Christmas has come early this year thanks to Phonte and Pooh of Little Brother! Yesterday they kicked off the Twelve Days of Getback over at their MySpace page. For the next 12 days, until the New Year, Little Brother will be offering up outtakes, alternate versions, exclusive remixes, leftover tracks, and behind-the-scenes info from my favorite album of 2007, Getback.
According to Phonte, there will be one exclusive posted a day on their MySpace and it will only be available for that day. Then once New Years hits, he says he really has something exclusive for us! This is gonna be exciting!
The first day, yesterday, was an exclusive look at the first track on the album, “Sirens”. Phonte wrote in their MySpace blog how the song came about and initially “The Getaway” was supposed to be the opening track… interesting. The first download being offered up is an outtake of “Sirens” called The Sleepy Pooh Mix. It’s not much different from the take you hear on the album. It’s missing Zo!’s piano interlude and Pooh’s first verse lacks a little “punch”, but it’s still nice to have as a Little Brother fan.
So make sure you get over there now and get yesterday’s track while it’s still up. If you miss out on any of them, Phonte asks that we spread them around, so we have his permission to share. I’m gonna try to collect all the tracks and put em up for grabs after the New Year.

you might wanna edit the part where you wrote: …Phonte’s first verse lacks a little “punch”
It was actually Pooh’s verse that got redone; hence, “The Sleepy Pooh Mix”
