Life After Death: Original Samples

To commemorate the 11th anniversary of the death of The Notorious B.I.G. (aka Christopher Wallace), Hip Hop Is Read and I got together to compile the samples used in Biggie’s sophomore effort, Life After Death.

Released on March 25, 1997 (just weeks after Biggie passed away), Life After Death featured numerous guest emcees and put Biggie on the map as a hip hop legend. Put a peace sign up for The Notorious B.I.G. today… may he rest in peace. We”ll always love Big Poppa!

i figured you would put the martin lawrence “doing time in hollywood” sample from “kick in the door” from off the “funk it” comedy album, but i have it if you wanna add that to the collection.

i forgot that that they sampled “can you rock it like this- run dmc” for “whats beef”. can you add that in the collection?

I dont mean too keep poppin up on here but yall forgot the “Al green” sample for “my downfall”. kevin hit me back for the sample.

Oh and canyon cody, that wasnt a guitar sample it was actually a replayed guitar riff,as they couldnt clear the sample.same with “your nobody till….”. but ill see if i can try to find out what sample they were trying to replay.
