Within the past week, 2 new web sites have emerged that I think will be blowing up any day now. Hip hop web sites or blogs are a dime a dozen, but the two sites mentioned below have unique concepts that set them apart in the hip hop community.


OGhiphop.com is a newly applied concept in hip hop news delivery. They provide the latest headlines that link to a list of external sources so you can get the most information in the shortest time. Generally, one source is not enough for all the news that is out there today. With the various perspectives from news sites (HHDX, AHH, okPlayer, etc.) as well as the multitude of blogs out there such as this one, you can get a holistic picture of the aspects of hip hop world that interest you. TheTrackMeet.net is a new web site dedicated to one thing — the music. This graphic and ad free web site should catch the eye of aspiring artists/producers wanting to get feedback on their tracks. The initial concept is a simplistic web site where the artist can submit their music and have the people rate it on a scale of 1 to 10. It’s simple. There are no chat rooms, no posting boards, no reviews, no comments, no oversized graphics, no “friends”, no ads, no gimmicks and no fronting – just a few minutes of music and a easy score of 1 to 10.
