After compiling the post for Jay-Z’s complete samples collection, it was only appropriate that we add a bonus sample set to the mix… the Streets Is Watching Soundtrack. So I hit Thomas up and said, “let’s do this one.” Of course he replied saying he had already started it and just about had it done.
Streets Is Watching might as well be a solo Jay-Z album. Jay is featured on 7 of the 12 tracks and the movie was basically a 60 minute long Jay-Z music video. If you haven’t seen the movie and you’re a Jay fan, you show check it out. It came out back in 1998 when Jay was just making a name for himself. The concept behind the movie was to bring up and coming Roc-A-Fella artists to the limelight.

Damn… still neva failin to impress me wit tha sample setz. hope to see more excellent setz in tha future.
Streets is watching video/soundtrack was Jay’s answer to critics that were saying Vol. 1 was a failure compared to RD. However, I have stated here and at https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6924933416584950618&postID=5418146155660256864 my feelings about Vol. 1. The video/movie helped put a good visual to the best songs on Vol. 1 that really has and still sells me on the GREATEST of Vol. 1.
“Celebrate”-joint is coming…
