RapCredits.com

You may remember a few weeks ago I mentioned that we were coming up on our first anniversary.  Well today is the day… *poppin’ bottles*.  This post, however, is not about this site though. It’s a new year and we’re doing new things.  You all have seen the changes we’ve gradually done over the past month right here and hopefully they’ve been for the better.  Well now I’d like to introduce a new venture… RapCredits.com.

RapCredits.com is a brand new web site that Thomas and I went in on together.  We came up with the idea about a month ago and have been working hard to prepare it for today’s official launch.  The site is a wiki for hip hop album credits.  Yeah, there are a ton of sites out there that you all probably go to to find your production and sample credits for your favorite hip hop album.  Well, we’re hoping in the future you’ll be able to visit rapcredits.com for all of those needs.  The idea is to have a site where every hip hop album is listed with production and sample credits in a familiar, easy to use format.  Because it is a wiki, anyone can contribute.  The site is still in its infant stages, but we have already put up most of the sample compilations that we have compiled over the months.

So come check us out.  If you’d like to contribute, just create an account and start wiki’ing! Thanks again to Krome for the amazing logo!

dope idea. i think i speak for a lot of the people who visit this site when i say that i study credits, and things of that nature. dope idea! there’s a couple of others sites out there like this, but none of them are nearly as comprehensive as i would like. hopefully Rap Credits will be that.

Yeah, that’s what we’re pushing for!

yeah !!!! this is what i’m talking about. the only site like that would be the-breaks.com. i love that site but they don’t really update it much. that’s my opinion though.

however, i hope this one yall have created continues to grow and becomes a good source for those who are looking for album credits.

one thing….. could it be possible to make it so you can search by the sample’s original artist (Issac Hayes, Minnie Riperton, The Moments, etc.) ? if yall make that happen on that site somewhere in the future then that would be dope !! KEEP UP THE HARD WORK !!!!

Thanks QueRico. I love the-breaks too. They have a ton of information, but it can be difficult to find information. We’re hoping we can build RapCredits.com to be everything the-break, dubcnn, and other sample/production credit site are and more.

And the great thing about the wiki is it’s search capability. What you’re asking for is already there. Do a search in the search box for “isaac hayes”. It already returns 17 results of Isaac Hayes songs that have been sampled in hip hop.

Now all we need are contributors. The more people we have helping input credits, the more successful this site will be.

Kev, is the brain child of this site. and Krome graphic is top notch as always.

Funny Thomas… “give the credit… where it’s due”. But don’t sell yourself short… without you, there wouldn’t be any content on the site!

not sure if this would be allowed, but if you could stream the original songs that were sampled..that would be really dope, would take it to the next level i think
