Jay-Z & Timbo: The Bounce Is Back!

Man, I read some beautiful news over at HipHopDX today. Apparently one of my dreams may turn into reality… Jay-Z’s next album is supposed to be fully produced by Timbaland!  My favorite emcee and my favorite producer together on an album is something that I have been wishing for a long time.  I know a lot of peeps are like, man I’d rather hear Jay and Kanye, or Jay and DJ Premier, or Jay and Just Blaze.  Yeah, those would be dope too, but check out the compilation I put together and tell me this ain’t the Perfect Collabo.

Before we get to the set, this is what was said at HipHopDX:

In an interview with MTV, Hip Hop super producer Timbaland announced that he will produce Jay-Z’s next album.

“He wants me to do the whole thing this time around,” Timbaland told MTV. “I’mma make it a classic too. You better believe it. It’ll be a monster! I always say this: You get a first single from me, I’mma get you up to gold. And it’s hard to get you up to gold in this day [and age].”

In 2000, Jay-Z and Timbaland created the summer anthem of 2000 when they teamed up for “Big Pimpin” featuring UGK.

“We wanna go to the world,” Timbaland added. “The world is ‘Big Pimpin’.’ ‘Big Pimpin’ ‘ is an international hit, so we wanna do 10 of those.”

Recently, Jay-Z has been on the road touring, but still plans on returning to making music full time in the near future.

“Jay should never chill,” Timbaland shared with MTV. “We had a long talk, and I really talked to him. Jay-Z does it for the love. That’s different. When somebody does it for the love, you don’t stop. He has everything, but he’s still current. A million people are buying his album regardless.”

Neither Jay-Z or Timbaland have made any announcements yet on when they will begin working on the new album, but Timbaland already has plans on setting aside at least three months for the project.

Damn, a whole album to himself. Now that’s better than being on the Black Album all together.

I guess Jay owed him big after snubbing him two albums in a row. Hopefully it just means he done with the Neptunes making his shit singles.

timbo seems to step up his beat making when jay-z’s on the track…
but id prefer a jay/ye or jay/just combo before i hear a jay/timbo

I don’t know Dutch I thought the Neptunes have done some pretty dope tracks for Jay. I thought these tracks were pretty dope Blue Magic, I Know, and Excuse Me Miss as far as singles go. But I do feel ya on Change Clothes and to a lesser degree Just Wanna Luv U lol.

It would sound good if timbo goes back to how he use to. Now his this massive pure pop producer alot of his shit is sounding more and more the same. Too formulated. Like you said before Him and blaze would be a sick combo, if i could pick i would listen to that one the most. Also premo would be good however too much premo i dont think would work. With jayskis comment i agree, jay knows how to pick the songs from the neptunes i love i know, excuse me miss etc

I guess nobody really likes that idea because Timbo is too much of a pop producer these days. If e can get back to how he used to produce than it will be great.
But i would like to hear the news of Jay producing with Just Blaze or Premier way more. I didnt like the recent timbo and jay track aint i either.

i think it can be a good idea if tim goes back 2 his vintage sound. u cant work wit madonna, justin timberlake, nelly furtado and duran duran then decide to do an entire album wit hov unless u gonna switch shit up a little bit. he needs to listen 2 those first couple albums he did wit missy, ginuwine and aaliyah. dat shit wuz historic. that early timbo sound totally changed the production game in the late-90’s.

it won’t come to fruition, but people are crazy if they don’t think these two cats can still geterdone in 2008…people act like timbo is all j.t. and nelly furtado these days, but he just dropped joints on jeezy’s last record, busta’s last record…he still got bangas. and hov? i need not say anything else besides ‘american gangster’.
