I just saw the movie last night. Un-freakin-believable! I think I'll see it again (next time in IMAX). Going to the movies is a big deal for me, cuz I rarely go. Last movie before this that I saw in the theaters was Spidey 3 (last year). The Dark Knight brought back the movie-going experience for me. I remember when they first starting casting for The Joker and people were saying that no one could out-do Jack Nickelson. After watching Heath Ledger, I was left saying, "Jack who?". One of my fav parts is when dude is trying to out batman and morgan freeman was like "so let me get this straight...yaddah yaddah yaddah...and you want to blackmail him?" That was awesome...nowhere close to the disappearing pencil trick though. Ledger absolutely hit this role on target...at first I was like I hope he doesn't get an award simply because he died...but Ledger KILLED this role (no pun intended) and he deserves every award that can be thrown at him...the dude looked completely nuts and made nicholson look like an amateur which is tough. I can't even compare the new Batman movies to the Spidey trilogy...Batman just has this humanity and darkness that most people can relate to while spidey just seems like a big budget fun fest meant to appeal to the masses. Please don't take it wrong as I loved the Spidey movies, but these flics with Bale as Batman are simply THE BEST adaptations I have ever seen. This whole movie was absolutely sick. "Make a pencil disapear" is the line of the year. The Joker really stole the show. He was more psycotic than Jack Nicholson and brought out a darker edge to the character. After seeing this movie, it kills me that Heath is gone. It was a little too long, and like the first one, didn't quite have the ending you were hoping for, but the motorcycle is genius, the joker is genius (especially with a bazooka), and the first almost glipse of two-face really got me good.
