This set right here was a no-brainer; although we’ve never done a set like this before. As soon as Deez suggested it in the CBox, I was on it! Isaac Hayes brought so much to this world; music and inspiration are only a small piece of the pie. This collection right here is dedicated to the late Isaac Hayes. These are original Isaac Hayes songs that have been sampled in hip hop over the years. If I’ve missed any obvious ones, please feel free to leave a comment.

ISAAC HAYES
NICE SET KEV
Excellent. Thank you so much for putting this together. I was searching the web for this info today and came up short. I have already linked back in a couple of placed, including my own tribute post
Thanks Ivan, can’t wait to see what you come up with.
this is a dope collective mix
Rest In Peace Isaac Hayes, you gave the world, one of the most beautiful music that ever existed… We really thank god for you… I hope you’re next to him…
We’ll miss you
much respect for creating this set.
Thank You Kevin, a fitting tribute to a musical giant. R.I.P. Black Moses.
I don’t know if you omitted or just didn’t notice, but “A Few More Kisses To Go” was the main sample in Big L’s “Platinum Plus.”
Thanks Josh… we’ll add it
First, thank you for this piece of hip hop education. All praise Black Moses.
Don’t know if it counts, but “Going In Circles” was used as an exerpt for the outro of b-real’s Psycho Realm, hence the title : “La Conecta (PT. 2)/Goin’ In Circles Outro”
Don’t ever stop doing this !!!
What underground group sampled “The Feeling Keeps On Coming”?? I only remember the hook was the deejay scratching the phrase “Back Atcha Wit Tha Realness”. It was like mid to late 90s, maybe early 2000s…. Never knew who it was but that joint was TRUE HIP HOP
Outstanding Article , I thought it was exceptional
I look ahead to more innovative postings like this one. Does This Blog have a newsletter I can subscribe to for new posts?
Kevin Nottingham, my deepest respect!!! btw: Do you know the scene in the “Shaft”-DVD-Extras where Isaac Hayes is jamming with these studio musicians and they play “Cafe regio” and “Theme from shaft”? It`s great!!!
