Okay, off the strength of Phur putting me in reminiscing mode (LOL) I decided to put up a copy of Supernatural by Tha Beggaz from 1995. This is next to impossible to find, and it is a shame cause this single was so hot! Please enjoy!

Wu in its prime right here. Check the freshness!

Reviews on the new tracks -

BLINKY - I am part Thai, and I caught that "Sawat Dee Krahp" at the intro! Did you know what he was saying or did you just want an Asian intro? Like the beat a lot, got that futuristic circus tent action that fits well!

One MIC - Interesting use of the reverse cymbals throughout the track! It really does sound like a Flash track, and using the Koto floaters brings in that Asian flavor!

kinetic - As most of you know by now I am a big fan of Asian genres, and this track does a great job of bringing that! Has that Akira vibe to it!

STTRESS - Definitely gives Meth room to ride the beat! Like the touches in the second verse, particularly the chops just after the chorus and the horns! The chorus part reminds me of that beat "Summertime" by Sublime...

Reviews on the ones I missed before -

Phur - Wow, copped it from RZA himself? Closest thing I have to that is copping an original copy of Iron Wire / Supernatural from the Beggah Clan in MD...I like the harpsi combined with the "We Will Rock You" vibe, it fits the Wu vibe well!

JFK - Bringing it back! Glad to have you with us, the beat sounds like something Meth would rhyme on for a remix, great job!

ACE Fadal - Really like the beat, I see what you are saying about matching accs. Talk to STTRESS about
Acid Pro, my understanding is that it is primed for matching beats to vocals. What program are you using currently?

Tommy - It's been great producing with you this contest, and great choice for your final entry! Action packed, seventies, can't go wrong!

Jack - For some reason, I can't get your beat to reload! I remember liking it, but I can't give specific details.

I think that covers everyone I didn't mention already. STTRESS and Tokyo, like both of your bonus tracks too! One!

Whats good peeps. In the process of doing my remix,I just happened to be listening to Nas-Hero.Wasnt totally satisfied with this album, but I think that Hero beat hits so hard, that i was compeled to do something with it.So Kev,this is a bonus remix using part of that Nas beat. For the most, pretty straight forward, but not using the whole track.

Here it is,Release Yo Delf-Mixtape Style.

Dutch - It was difficult at times watching the movie with my wife, because I often had to pause the movie and explain that the film was exaggerated and over-dramatized for entertainment value. Then I had to fully explain the real-life events that the movie was based on (i.e. the over-produced "challenge" of his training dojo.) I think the movie does a decent job at giving the casual viewer a glimpse or an idea of what he lived like, but to a head like myself it's just a caricature of what he really embodied. He is an idol of mine, and I try to live every day of my life with his spirit.

I have gone back and re-listened to all the tracks so far, and I love all the submissions I have heard! Welcome to the new heads JFK, Trackfiend, Confidence, peace to the old heads, and peace to all the kung fu heads on the real!

G.C.- This is a mean track. Perfect intro. About Bruce, Some of his best stuff is in those documentaries- the guy was nuts about his vision; like a Buster Keaton or any of these other guys who would take after take to get it just right. How do you feel about the Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story?

Trackfiend- nice track; you got something soulful but mean there. Check out The Streets by Bone Thugs N Harmony; you and will.i.am are thinking alike.

Isberg- dope intro! Bass and the kung fu flute- you find some great instruments. I'm really liking those plucks in the verse two.

Tommy, hell of a track to go out on. One of my favorites- when those drums kicked in...

SND- birdshit? This is an aggressive track- nice little pianos, and some big strings. Simple but strong.

JFK- I wish you had found us earlier. Excited to hear what else you got. Grabbed dad's record collection out of the attic and went straight out of the basement with this track.

Dutch - I own every Bruce Lee film made, including the lost interviews and documentaries showing the original version of Game of Death the way it was meant to be viewed.

Your beat's got that Miami Vice meets Magnum PI flavor, and Meth rides the beat well!

What's up everybody

http://www.zshare.net/audio/17409460f6ee9c02/

Here's my remix for this week.
Inspirations for this week's track-
Prince sample stipulation last week- had to go back and get more prince,
Dope Boys- best track on the new game album in my opinion,
a buddy at work who drinks 5 monsters a day, and eats nothing but aderol,
Tokyo Cigar for putting some drama on this beat first, Jockin Jay-Z and the Oasis mash ups,
Lil wayne standing on top of a limo playing guitar in the lollipop video- only time I think Weezy's ever inspired me- maybe also the beat he snagged for best rapper alive.

This is some grizzly bear eating the hunter shaolin style, but when meth starts screaming on the hook, I felt like it might work.

I haven't listened to the others yet, but the martial arts talk is awesome. I'm more of a Bruce Lee guy; first violent movies my family let me watch growing up. Going up against Kareem, kicking out a light bulb on the ceiling, fighting the claw in the mirrors, killing Chuck Norris at the coliseum...

And the Woo, man, can't believe my dad let me watch those as a kid. That hospital shootout was a like a video game.
peace

Yo son when Jackie chan and Jet li started testing each others handskills i was bugging. The chick i was in the movies with was telling me i was acting like a hyperactive kid.

It's crazy how the wu tang clan being in the building still brings out the kung fu flick fan in cats.

Yo fam i gotta get a copy of the shows heads used to do when the click was together. I miss those freestyle sessions in 94th aero over in college park.

Okay, first off - Thomas, we gotta get you in the digital age fam! LOL Since Blu ray has come out, you can cop good quality DVDs for as cheap as $10 new! I own all of those titles you mentioned except Tai Chi and I heard that one is FIRE! I am glad I am not the only Kung Fu head on this site for real!

Tokyo, I totally remember the sessions at the GC Attic between tracks, that ish was mad fun! I have not seen Forbidden Kingdom yet (gasp!) but I plan on checking it out real soon. The last new flick I have seen and own is Fearless, that move is EPIC on some superhero ish.

Kev, you just need to make a kung fu forum on this site cause I'd be all UP on that! LOL

Damn yo. The killer was that joint. The shootout at the end was epic. When dude got blinded, crawled past the girl and died I was mad hurt.

Hard boiled was a masterpiece of violence. When the ill bad guy had a change of heart at the hospital and took the L i was buggin.

GC is heavier in the collection department than i am though. We used to record tracks, make beats and watch flicks with the crew all day in his lab. He put me on to this SICK joint called Full Time Killer that was just ill. One of my favorite assassin flicks till this day.

But yo Drunken master and Iron Monkey are in my top 5 list of favorite kung fu flicks though.

What did yall think of the Jackie chan vs Jet li fight in Forbidden Kingdom?

I normally don't post on the remix contest section because I'm judging, but I'm a huge Kung-Fu Flick fan. I have many many VHS movies. Some of my fav's are Iron Monkey, Tai Chi, Master of the Flying Guillotine, Kid with the Golden Arm, The Killer/Hard Boiled (not Kung-Fu flicks, but), 18 Bronzeman, etc.

I haven't upgraded to DVD and I haven't watched them for a long time. I'm scared the VCR might break them and I'll be upset.

Yea, I own the US released version called "Invincible Pole Fighter" starring Gordon Liu. It is one of the greatest, directed by the one who brought us the legendary "Master Killer". Here is a link to cop it from Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Invincible-Pole-Fighter-Chen-Peng-Chang/dp/B00005QAQE

Another one you HAVE to check out is called "The Prodigal Son". It is Sammo Hung's best work, showcasing the art of Wing Tsun with perfect choreography and a killer storyline.

If you prefer over-the-top ill wire-fu and absurd story lines, go cop "Lord of the Wu Tang" or "Master of the Flying Guillotine". Let me know if you want any other good views! One!
