Reports are racing around the Net that Kanye West’s new album, reportedly not called Good Ass Job, is gonna be ready for a December 2008 release. The first single “Love Lockdown” should be hitting the airwaves in a matter of days. We’re also told that Mr. West will be singing on this album really heavy. It is also reported that 50 Cent’s Before I Self Destruct will be released in December as well. What do you all think about that?

I’ll welcome some new Ye. I’m not with him singing though. I’m interested in seeing what 50 comes with. He kinda took a “L” a year ago when he went up against Ye in the made up for tv “battle”.
50’s use to winning so I’m intrigued a bit.
Off topic a bit. I listened to “Graduation” and “Curtis” this week. “Graduation” stands the test of time. Still sounds fresh after a year. I personally haven’t listened to this joint in about 6-8 months.
“Curtis” suffered in my opinion from the weak singles. “If” he had “I Get Money” out first the outcome may have been different; number wise and in the eyes of the buying public…maybe.
I think 50 needs to go back to that hard, gutter, street, ignorant ish he is known for. Too many “girly” records for me. I still copped both tho.
I still think “Graduation” was the better album.
I hope its the old kanye we used to, not the new one
I think this is some gay ass shit they keep doing this, Conspiracy??? All they seem to care about is record sales. im no curtis fan, im off and on with kanye, and overall – i guess this is ok, good for their fans and all, but dam – if we go thru another one of these huge ass records battle of ‘who sells more’ then it will be some homo shit.

I don’t know Cryptvill…. I welcome these kind of battles. Yeah in the end it’s all about record sales, but it a great thing for hip hop to have 2 major albums dropping on one day. Personally, I think Sep 30 is gonna be an excellent day for hip hop and a terrible day for my wallet!

i think kanye will win the battle. he always brings fresh air into hip hop, but singin? i dont know about that. he’ll probably fuck with the t-pain effect. i hope NOT!
and 50: his last album was weak. but after hearin the g-unit album i got some hope, that we’ll hear the old 50 cent. with those gangsta beats like on get rich or die tryin.
all in all it’ll be an interesting battle, i think.

Me personally I liked the new stuff Kanye has been coming with like that “Stalker Song” I thought it was hot. But like Thomas said 50 makes to many “girly” tracks like that track with the chick from the Pussycat Dolls one of the worst tracks I’ve ever heard he’s need to leave that avenue to Fabolous. He needs to get back to GRODT or The Massacre material
