[...] 1994’s The Sun Rises in the East finds Jeru exploring the tension between good and evil in a larger context and how it applies to his own life with a urgency that came from growing up too fast in East New York, Brooklyn. The album is overflowing with sonic details of urban life (sneakers hitting the pavement, sirens, train’s snaking through the city) with instruments and samples taking on lives of their own. You can find the original samples here.
Hello, on the file with all the samples on it, the first track, Cerecka, is actually not Cerecka at all. If you listen to it, you cannot hear something that sounds like Intro (Life) on it. I do have the proper version of Cerecka and you can hear the Intro (Life) beat on it. Just wondering if you would like the real Cerecka so you could take out the 'fake' one and replace it with the real Cerecka.

I was at JERU's concert in TOULOUSE (FRANCE) last thursday. He actually had a great show with a lot of presence and interraction with da public. Even if it was in in front of a small crowd ( 200 ). He did all the classics, except "Me or the papes", instead he did "Me not the paper". It's been a long time since i've been at a hip hop show, and this one was definitly worth.
We spoke a few minute to him before da show, and he wasn't playin da star at all , it was straight hip hop.
So Big up to JERU. "you can't stop the prohet" 's "jungle music"when his "mind spray" cuz he always "come clean" for all "da bichez" and the "perverted monks in the house".

Like he said in his last album : Fuck whatchu thought was dope, this shit is da crack

The Intro (Life) also sampled the anime movie Fist of the North Star (mad violent old school anime, u should watch it).

The music right at the beginning of the intro, and also the words that he's saying are from the intro of the anime. I managed to find the part sampled on youtube, check it out (crank up the volume cos its a bit quiet):

Jeru n Premier must have liked it too haha
