eLZhi: “Save Ya” feat. T3 of Slum Village

The second single from eLZhi‘s latest release, The Preface, comes as a warning to all the gold diggers out there. “Save Ya,” featuring T3 of Slum Village, tells the ladies out there to look elsewhere if they want to reap the benefits of eLZhi’s hard earned success. eLZhi’s lyrical skills are on-point as he tells them to get lost over a bouncing, bass-heavy beat: “Infatuated with material things / You only see your feet in those shoes / Your ears in those rings / But, uh, you can come around on your best behavior / But sorry Love, I can’t save ya.”

This is a nice refreshing track.I,m not quite sure if i’m totally feeling the sample that they used for it.Elzhi is difinitely one of the emcees out to constantly keep your eye on.I’ve been down with Slum Village since the very first cd they put out. They’ve always have been underrated by the industry. It was great to see Elzhi join the group in a period when they were semi-parting ways with J-Dilla(RIP).I’ve been trying to get my hands on the new Elzhi, but havent gotten around to it.Imagine if J-Dilla never left Slum and him and Elzhi were spitting together along with T3 and Dilla on the beats!WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And for that other member they had in the group with the wrap on his head, they are better off without him.He always sounded like he had sucked on a helium balloon, before he rhymed.LOL

ooh i like the sound of this – very chill
never heard too much from elzhi, but his guest verse in little brother’s minstrel show is enough to get me anticipating this album

“They see with 2 eyes, you know I got 3″

Haha, that’s so classic. To that guy sttress I disagree with you about Baatin who was one of the OG SV members. I liked his quirkiness, it’s different. Without ‘tin there would be no Fantastic V2. Anyways, this whole album bangs, Black Milk is so talented. He has a new album coming out called “The Tronic”, be on the lookout! I recommend that you go BUY the preface and support some good hip-hop.

I forgot something… had to post this.

    “You fantasize about shopping sprees,
‘Cause you see me droppin’ G’s, like I’m choppin ki’s”

    Damn…

Check out his album! One of the highlights of the year for true hiphop.

Man is a beast on the mic… He just has the whole package: flow, lyrics, a good ear for beats & intelligence

This comment is to matt.there is no question that Fantastic Vol.2 was their best album and Baatin was a original member, but who would u rather have spitting, him or Elzhi? There is no comparison!

Oh yea, actually Fantastic Vol.1,was their first release, but alot of people dont know that, because it was never officially released for the simple fact that alot of Vol.1 was remastered and touched up and made into Vol.2.I am a proud owner of Vol.1

I’d rather have Baatin, El, T3, and Dilla. Damn…

But I guess if I HAD to choose between the two of course I’d pick El. Well I heard Baatin is going to be on the newest SV album along with T3 and El. So I’m very excited to see when that project is coming out. T3 has also spoken about a tribute to illmatic called “Ellmatic”. I heard him and royce are going to re-do “life’s a bitch”, that would be some history in the making right there.
