“Flava In Ya Ear” did have a sample… don’t know the name of it, but someone actually played the vinyl for me about 10 years ago. It’s a sample because Prince also used it for “The Greatest Romance” remix with Eve.

I believe that the scratch “no more music for the suckers” at the end of “funk wit da style” is taken from the tv show “Rap attack” (21 february 1987). You can find it on the compilation “down the dial” by will C. (2008).

But they also used that Lou Donaldson “Who’s Making Love” for “One More Chance” (Hip-Hop Mix). First 5 seconds of the sample.

Flava in ya ear is sample based. Easy Mo Bee said himself that its a guitar with reverb and that the drums are sampled drums as well where he chopped up the snare and kick and hight hat. The sound effect some people say comes from the start of the first terminator movie when arnold lands. The prominent guitar sample is probably lou donaldson “whos making love”

We couldn’t find a listing for “Flavor in Ya Ear”. I know Kev is a big Prince fan so I know he’ll check it out once he sees this.

Sometimes we miss stuff….we don’t mind if you point it out or share the missing songs for inclusion in the set.

We don’t know everything. So…up the song and let me take a listen….where in the Prince song is the sample from? Time?

Thanks Q. You’re right about “You Gots To Chill”. Typo on my part. However, Funk Da World was Bad Boy’s SECOND album release, by one week. Biggie’s Ready To Die was released on Sept 13, 1994, followed by Craig Mack’ Funk Da World on Sept 20, 1994.

And I know I’m not wrong about this one, You Gots to Chill by EPMD came from Strictly Business not Unfinished Business. But You got some good mixes though. Flava in ya Ear didn’t have a sample in it?? That’s surprising! Yeah Mack had his own style but once B.I.G. blew up it was a wrap for Mack! I remember they had the whole (B.I.G. MACK) campaign going on but I thought Mack dropped first then B.I.G.?
