All Souled Out: Original Samples

Here’s a sample set that we worked on with Goon over at Goons DancingPete Rock and C.L. Smooth released this EP as a warm up to their 1992 debut Mecca and The Soul Brother.  The EP was only 6 tracks long, but it’s 17 samples deep!

    hey kevin from what song is the sample of the bassline on “go with the flow”

    Not sure what the baseline is for “Go with the Flow”. Drums come from James Brown song.

    The baseline (and flute) for Go With The Flow is actually “Burning Spear” by S.O.U.L., which is listed here as being used for “Mecca and the Soul Brother”.

    So the “Funky Drummer” used on this wasn’t the original one (with actual “lyrics”), pts 1 and 2, but rather the re-done break-only? Definitely prefer the original, ‘cos you hear sweet tee’s “its my beat” all over it:)
