I just came across some excellent news courtesy of my man J.D. at Hip Hop Update. Here’s the scoop…
Fresh off of the success of the And Justus For All official release (debuted in Billboard Top 200), Little Brother is out to duplicate the plan with the re-release of their acclaimed mixtape originally hosted by DJ Drama, now entitled Separate But Equal (Drama Free Version) on November 4th.
The new version, which no longer includes DJ Drama, has three new tracks added to it, including two produced by 9th Wonder.
The majority of the production on Separate But Equal (Drama Free Version) is handled by Little Brother favorites 9th Wonder and Khrysis, with help coming from Illmind, The Kreators and Young Cee.
Mos Def, Chaundon, L.E.G.A.C.Y., Skyzoo, Supastition, Darien Brockington and Joe Scudda all make cameos on the album.
For those that do not have the original mixtape, mixed by DJ Drama in 2006, grab it here.

The mixtape was hot, but 2 years too late…even with the three new tracks.

bleg
I did get both Mixtapes and the official Justus for all. They were nice,as expected.but one thing though, the official albums are probaly a good buy for cats that dont have much exposure to mixtapes, cause you are basically rereleasing the same material all over.I would suggest, still doing a mixtape, but only limiting it to about 2-3 joints off of the mixtape,to use on the official album.
bleg?
I think he meant “blah”. Deez is hatin again. Am I the only one excited about this? I mean yeah it’s old material (other than the 3 new joints), but personally I hate mixtapes. I hate hearing the DJ shouting all over it. I had always wished that they would make an official album from this. And like S.T.T.R.E.S.S. said, it makes the music available to thoses that ain’t up on mixtapes… and holds us over for the next official LB release.
oh man, i want a new little brother album, not another mixtape/album ‘-.-
ahh – nice, at least we get to listen to these tracks without someone screaming over them
Little Brother is starting to become underwhelming….thats the only way i can think to put it
LB is not going to shock anyone with anything “innovative” (not a knock on LB), but they make good music I can allways listen to.
