Do you think Rock is capable of dropping a solo album as strong as “jesus price” i don’t think so… Plus lyrically Rock is way too unfocused and still ends half of his rhymes with “bitch” or “shit” which is a lack of lyrical consistance to me… But i agree with the chemistry thing…
And no pooh is not just a voice !

“just a voice” WOW. I guess to each his own. Rock kills this whole album and carry’s his little brother (no pun intended) along for the ride. “Smack Musik” and “Da Art of” are small examples of Rock aka “just a voice” murking them tracks.

IMO.

big rock obama wouldn’t be too happy about that. I don’t think Rock has a problem giving Sean the lead, I think he understands that, but I certainly feel that they have a chemistry that is necessary

Solid review. You certainly outlined the album’s main fortes, being its bangin beats (hillarious about that lamp) and ignorant-yet-witty punchlines. Being a BCC diehard I bought the album without even checkin first, and I’m glad I did. I could of course start being a nostalgic bitch and say that I feel kinda alienated by the new polished sound (compared to the dark organic Beatminerz-kind of ish of old), but hey – what’s past is past.

Tell you the truth, if it wasn’t for the two unmistakable emcees, I might even have wondered if I hadn’t got the wrong CD. And here I agree with Thomas, I also think Rock is the standout on this because you can really feel he’s hungry. He’s spitting like he’s got something to prove, whereas Ruck spits with the same nonchalance he’s known for and doesn’t really kill it on any of the joints (which doesn’t mean he’s not delivering). I also always thought that Rock was much more of a killer, he’s got that awkward voice that immediately strikes you with awe and he flows like lava

This album is one of my fav’s of the year. I’ll have to disagree with the assessement that Ruck (Sean P) is the “stand out” on the album. I’ve always thought of Rock as “da monster” of the group from jump and his performance on this album doesn’t change my mind/opinion regarding that. Sean P is a beast, but he’s not touching Rock on this joint.
