Back in the day it was special because artists only had albums coming out once every 2 or 3 years and the albums they made were solid from top to bottom. Over the years more and more albums having been coming out and they have two to four good tracks and the rest is garbage. I think people have been long tired of shelling out their dough for half hearted music and artists just trying to make a buck. I also think it depends on the individual. I want to hear Kanye's "new sound" before I spend money to buy it to make sure I'll want to listen to it more than once.
