Kanye West: Beats For Jay

by Kevin on November 29, 2008 · 14 comments

This compilations wasn’t initially part of Kanye Week, but when Jayski requested it in the C-Box the other day, I figured I’d hop on it. Naturally it makes sense. Every Kanye beat that Jay has ever spit over has been complete fire. And with Kanye set to produce most, if not all, of Jay’s Blueprint 3, you can sort of consider this compilation a preview.

  1. Some People Hate
  2. Get By (Remix)
  3. A Dream
  4. Never Change
  5. Never Let Me Down
  6. Lucifer
  7. Heart In The City (Ain’t No Love)
  8. Guess Who’s Back
  9. Swagga Like Us
  10. Girls Girls Girls (Remix)
  11. Encore
  12. Izzo (H.O.V.A.)
  13. Poppin Tags
  14. Jockin’ Jay-Z (Dope Boy Fresh)
  15. 03 Bonnie & Clyde
  16. Takeover
  17. This Can’t Be Life
  18. Excuse Me Miss Again (Remix)
  19. Diamonds Are Forever (Remix)
  20. BONUS: Big Brother (Tribute To Jay-Z).mp3

Trivia:
What beat did Kanye give Jay-z that Kanye wishes he now could keep for himself?

5 Kevin November 30, 2008 at 4:10 pm

I think I know, but I’m gonna let others play.

6 Cenzo November 30, 2008 at 4:23 pm

i think it was “lucifer”! am i right?

Ok since no one else (besides Cenzo) is taking a guess, I think it’s IZZO. We should do these in the C-Box.

Jim Jones recently said in an interview that the “Izzo” beat for Cam and Ye gave them a free beat because of the mix up.

9 Thomas November 30, 2008 at 9:01 pm

“Izzo” beat was for Cam and not originally for Jay…..

Are these the actual tracks, or the instrumentals?

11 Thomas April 5, 2009 at 5:18 pm

I think actual tracks

Pretty sure I saw an interview or something where Ye said he wished he wanted the “Lucifer” beat to himself but he felt like “Lucifer” and “Touch the Sky” needed their own separate CDs

Are These Instrumentals?

No, just a compilation of songs.
