Mr. Scarface Is Back: Original Samples

Mr. Scarface Is Back is the solo debut album from Scarface.  This album (and his previous work with the Geto Boys) helped establish him as one of the dopest lyricist in the game.  This set includes some classic music from James Brown, George Clinton, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, The Honey Drippers, and others.  The set also includes the illest drums ever:  Melvin Bliss’s “Synthetic Substitution”.

Great post Kev. This was a dope album back in the day. Sounds more “Eastcoast” than “Southern” but that was the dominate sound in 1991….for a few more months anyway! Thanks for this and all the others you’ve dropped for us. I try to always say “Thanks” but I haven’t always reached that mark. I will do better.
