Welcome to Scarface Day!

Another day here at This Is Hip Hop dedicated to arguably of the best MC’s in Hip Hop’s history.   Scarface has been in the game for over 20 years as part of the group the Geto Boys and as a solo artist.  Face is one of the most respected lyricist in the game mostly for his well crafted albums and second to none story telling ability.   He could be described as “your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper” as he has collaborated with a who’s who in Hip Hop:  Jay-Z, Nas, Ice Cube, Snoop Dog, Ludacris, UGK, Freeway, and others.

Scarface has a couple critically acclaimed solo albums under his belt:  Mr. Scarface Is Back (1991), The Diary (1994), and The Fix (2002); in addition to We Can’t Be Stopped (1991) with the Geto Boys.  However, Mr. Scarface recently he stated Emeritus would be his last solo album unless he was a part of a duo or trio.  Check the link, but how dope would a Jay, Beans, and Scarface album be?  What about Nas, Ice Cube, and Face?  WOW!

Anyway….enough of my rambling.  We have the normal This Is Hip Hop goodies for you today:  a two disc comp set, Who Spit It Better, and a couple of sample sets.

So enjoy this day until the next BIG artist themed week arrives later this month.  Enjoy!
