Q-Tip with The Cool Kids & The Knux in Toronto December 5th

No contest or anything this time around, as I was pretty short on time. Although, I will be there to hear The Knux (Read Review), whom I thought dropped a very impressive album. I’ve seen the Cool Kids live at Rock the Bells, I will be expecting a much better show this time around and apparently they kicked up their live game a bit. Q-Tip, well, it’s Q-Tip. One of the best live performers I’ve seen in my days of attending live shows because: 1) Uses a live band (2) Performs classic ATCQ material, as well as his own and (3) His energy and his enthusiasm is very high. Chances are he’ll be performing joints off of his latest release, The Renaissance (Read Review). Should be dope, check it out and drop your comments.

Kevin should have more video from the Ft. Lauderdale show next week. Hit the jump for all the info on this show…

yes yes yes.. i will be at the show… i have see both Q and the Cool Kids @ RTB in toronto.. the Kids are ill performers hopefully they up it a bit more like you had said… I met Q backstage and got him to sign my “When Did You Fall In Love…. With Hip Hop” T-Shirt.. lets just say that he and the rest of Tribe were geeked out over the shirt and the collage of signatures…. Can’t wait to see them LIVE… i got that KNUX.. hopefully they come correct live…
    peace kev..

ah, so THAT was you with that shirt. I was feeling it man. I thought the merch was really really weak at the show.

I wonder if the Knux will have the live band, because all their shit is live orientated

And word @ I’m gonna start changing my name to Kev if people don’t start reading who the post is by

my bad deez.. you gonna be at the show? yeah the merch table was weak.. i dont know if you noticed but some of the stuff they were selling there differ from american spots, but none the less the RTB was ILL, can’t wait till they roll around back here next year

I loved RTB’s save for a few things : Mos Def’s really weird performance, Nas’s lack of a full verse/lyrics, the crowd’s depreciation for The Pharcyde, Rakim…who has gone from the best emcee in my book, a few notches down, for that terrible terrrrrrible performace

I should be there tomorrow though. I really don’t wanna miss the Knux, but I might have to

The KNUX will KILL IT… Unfortunately, they will not have a band this go round, but you will feel the energy for sure!

as for Mos’ lovers rock set i think he was just in the moment.. i was kinda disappointed but he still is my most fave MC in hip hop period…. yeah Nas’ lack of full verses kinda got to me… he just let the crowd rock the whole track… rakim should had just dropped the mic.. that was bas sound engineering.. The Pharcyde i personally thought did a good job, but i believe that not everyone knew who they were, i was disappointed though when they didn’t perform “You Never Knew”… I think that The Cool Kids & ATCQ did an ILL job performing though.. so tomorrow for all that will be there look for a dood wavin the “When Did You Fall In Love… With Hip Hop” T-Shirt…. I will be pumpin that hard… Toronto We Go Hard….
    peace.

Word up Dart, I’m excited about it. Shame they won’t have a band, I do realize that is pretty hard to come by these days with live music, and expensive as hell.

Those beats will bang though, I haven’t been to Phoenix in a long time. Have a great stay in Toronto. I love this city

oh yeah i’ll be at that after party too by friends birthday will be held there.. NICE

I don’t think Rakim had a right to call out the Sound guy like that. These guys are professionals, make due with what you got and the show must go on. That was brutal, and it’s not like the sound was bad. You Never Knew? There’s no such Pharcyde joint, unless I’m a retard

And The Cool Kids, yeah… I’ll say off the record, they weren’t my favourite performers of the night and need to step their game up in terms of live acts.

  • ghost of 79

sorry what i meant was that track “You Never Knew” was from the Heiroglyphics…. my bad.. if you haven’t heard, check it out…
    peace

LOL, I take offense at thinking I don’t know Heiro’s biggest track outside of the Souls of Mischief.

I really don’t get the connection you are trying to make. Why would the Pharcyde do You Never Know?

I might have to take that shirt away from you homie

  • ghost of 79

hahahaha.. you know you are right.. what was i thinking.. i was thinking of souls.. shit… BIG DIF.. man.. i was a fool to think that they did that track, maybe i should just leave the shirt home then…. the show is gonna happen in about 9 hours.. hope i dont get disappointed..
    peace
