Common has worked with plenty of great producers throughout his career. In the early days he worked mostly with No ID. In this decade, he made new classics with Kanye West. More recently, he’s switched up his sound with The Neptunes. However, the one producer that provided the perfect backdrop for Common, the one who personified musical excellent, is the man J Dilla. We’ve decided to compile a collection of the two to wrap up Common Week. 26 tracks in all, close to 2 hours worth of timeless hip hop. Enjoy!

9th, just click download, enter the 3 letter and download. Easy as pie. This comp is too big for Zshare.
Soul Power is a huge joint!
his chemistry with Dilla was pretty great
Damn!!! This is the post I’ve been waiting for !!! Nice cover, I never seen Dilla and Common togheter at least on a video in JDz crib!
Good stuff.
I didn’t know how many tracks were actually produced by J.Dilla (Reminsice, New Wave, Come Close). I didn’t even know that Pimpin’ even existed. This collection makes me question if this duo beats Pete Rock & CL Smooth or the Self-proclaimed New Pete Rock and Crippled CL Smooth that jaunted BE and Finding Forever as the tightest Producer-MC and MC duos in hip-hop.
Remember that there are two different versions of “So Far To Go”… the one on ‘The Shining’ (aka the “Go” remix) and the subpar version on ‘Finding Forever.’ The drums shouldn’t have been touched.
Right uneek, I think I used The Shining version in this comp.
