If you’re bumpin the new Trav Williams mixtape (which you should be), you’ll notice a couple of originals produced by my man G.C. I remember when G.C. first emailed me the beat “For You”. I was like, I don’t know man, that’s that “Good Clothes” sample; Illmind already did his thing with that. But once I got that LB track out of my head and the dude Trav Wiliams hoped on it, it was all over.

So I wanna know what you all think. The Illmind flip is classic; how did G.C. do?

Who flipped it better?

my man GC is chopping it well… One.
I do enjoy love to take samples already used, and giving them new life.. And in some cases as this one, doing it better..

GC you gettin it in, but the filter didn’t do it for me. Truth be told I like the track wit trav more but beat for beat had to give it to Illmind.

  • 80′s Baby

G.C got this hands down. Illmind is REALLY over-rated.He makes good beats. But the hype people give him is too much. Black Milk and Jake-One own that guy.

yeah.. i like the G.C. one better overall… but the illmind had certain elements in it that attracted me more than the g.C. one…

but 80′s Baby??? i dont know about over-rated…

Yo,maybe i’m wrong, but i’ve always said that some people sometimes judge a track by who’s on it,rather than listening to the track itself.Kev can tell u that i’m a devoted LB listener, thats hometown shit right there and Illmind is a hot producer.G.C is my homie,on the strength, but we keep it real with each other.I just think that G.C.’s beat had a little bit more detail to it than Illmind’s did.The chops and beat selection gave it more bounce and appeal to bump to.Like most of the regulars on the site that know G.C.,we know he’s gonna go straight 90′s on that ass.LMAO! So the beats are gonna be as dirty, grimy and vintage as he can make em.
