Day 6 of our January Month of Samples brings us to 50 Cent and his G-Unit crew. Get Rich or Die Tryin’ wasn’t the greatest movie, but the soundtrack was pretty much on point. I mean, who didn’t love the soulful singles “Hustler’s Ambition”, “Window Shopper”, or “Best Friend”? If the sappy 50 wasn’t your speed, then you also had “Have a Party” from Mobb Deep, “Get Low” from Lloyd Banks, and “I’ll Whip Your Head” from 50 and Buck. Lots of heat here…. makes you wonder what happened with their last release. Oh, and what ever happened to the return of Murda Mase? Anyway, gettin’ off track. Here’s the samples…

Not sure what was up with this post earlier. Thanks to Chris for giving me a heads up!
This was a well put together album by Mr. Interscope.
Mase went back to his congregation in ATL I believe….plus P. Diddy wanted too much money from 50 to release him from his Bad Boy contract….I believe.
People hate on Puff, but he is bout his business and bout his $.
BIG thanks for posting this, I was just thinking about how well the production was on this album (which is very good seeing that it is a soundtrack) and wondering what songs were sampled for tracks like “When It Rains It Pours” etc. etc. so big ups for this Kev.
was there a sample for ill whip your head?
We couldn’t find a listing for “I’ll Whip Your Head”. Most the samples we are putting out this month are incomplete.
If you come across any listings hit us up and we’ll try to find the sample and verify it.
Thanks
@ kev or thomas not 100 % but i think hustlers ambition samples the theme to cleopatra jones by joe simon please confirm
Ray do you have the song? What part do you think it samples “Cleopatra Jones” at? Cause the main sample is the Maze joint.
Pass the song along and I will take a listen.
Mase got on this joint and dissed Fab and Loon ASAP!! lol I was looking forward to the Mase G-Unit collab oh well too bad it never happened.
