Wow, can you believe we’re already on Day 9 of our January Month of Samples? We haven’t even hit the really good stuff that we’ve got lined up yet. Canibus made his debut in 1998 shortly after the success of his LL diss, “Second Round K.O.”. Some people either like Canibus or they don’t. WHEN THIS ALBUM CAME OUT I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS KINDA SO-SO…AND IT WAS BY LATE 90′S STANDARDS, BUT GIVEN A LOT OF THE SUBPAR JOINTS THAT GET RELEASED THESE DAYS, I HAVE A NEW RESPECT FOR THIS ALBUM.
“What’s the samples on the beat? A train? What’s that for? The bassline? Muthaf***r!” That was a classic skit on 2000BC dogging Wyclef for making bad beats for this album. Canibus was a beast though! Looking forward to what was actually sampled. Thanks TIHH!
lol, you’d think with these samples, the production would’ve been better
Thanks for this.
@Sean Deez I agree man. The beats were awful. This inspired me to listen to some more canibus today. That dude was a monster on the mic.
I just want to take this opportunity to say Canibus is iller then LL.
oh my word, throwbacks!!
Man, another coulda/shoulda from the 90’s, a postive graveyard for so many rappers.
Jerry Wonder, thats Clef’s cuzo, right?
I love this album for the ill lyrics and samples… i never understood the beef about the beats?? I’ve heard and constantly hear wacker beats on a day to day basis. His second album is the best tho… he is a beast on it!!!
i agree wit mike 100%
Can we get some more bis!!
