New Music Tuesday: 01/13/09

January is usually a slow month for new music releases, but we couldn’t let today go by without mentioning the few that are being released today. One release that most people are looking forward to is the soundtrack to the new Biggie biopic, Notorious. Not sure how many people will actually cop it as it’s mostly a greatest hits album. It does include new tracks from Jay-Z and Jadakiss, as well as three unreleased Biggie demos. I think most people will just end up downloading those tracks and call it a day.

There are two new albums being released in the R&B world today, from two of my favorite female singers. Heather Headley tries her hand at gospel with the release of Audience of One. I’m not a fan of gospel music, but I’ve enjoyed Heather’s previous work. The other R&B LP out today is the new one from Syleena Johnson, Chapter 4: Labor Pains. Not sure about that title, but Syleena usually comes through with the goodness.
