Baron Von Alias

Welcome one and all, my name is Baron Von Alias, a time traveler sent from the year 1830. Born and raised in the North of England. To cut a long story short I was basically handed down an old family heirloom, a Timepiece. Said to hold the powers of time travel within its mechanism, of which I obviously thought was nonsense. I was always greatly influenced by poetry, which I began to dabble in at an early age. Having been ridiculed for my passionate affair with the spoken word, I was hailed a follower of witchcraft. My rhymes were mistaken for incantations, and the tales of time and soliloquies of the future that I spoke of were considered demonic, so I had no other choice but to use the powers bestowed upon me within the Timepiece to move through time to a period where I could be accepted for what I was

Now upon finding myself in the year 2009, I have found a place where I can nurture my skills and fulfil my destiny.

With a few projects under my belt thus far, namely ‘VON ALiB’ an album consisting solely of beats from Madlib‘s Beat Konducta 1&2, The 13th Hour including all original material produced entirely by the genius known as Arhat, and finally Von Alias The Great an album of various other tracks from different producers including Shorte Bluez, Plan B, Steesh, and Vincent Price.

I have pieced together a collection of all my favourites from these efforts plus a few exclusives for the mixtape I have named The Mechanism (Workings of a Timepiece) [download here] to show where I have come from and what I have to show to date. Starting with a few tracks from ‘VON ALiB’ for example “Time of Death” [listen here] which explains a small chapter in my story within the song itself, from being led to the gallows to the events which occurred in the process and how the hanging didn’t quite go as planned. Then on to The 13th Hour with the track “Silence Masks” [listen here] produced by Arhat, placing you within a world where sound does not exist, can you imagine the world without sound? I try to put my perspective on this subject across in my lyrics to make it conjure up thoughts and visions of that world. Again a track from the next album Von Alias The Great, this track is “Truth” [listen here] which has a very uplifting sound to it encapsulated within the strings, I decided to write this song about being truthful to yourself. Be who you are and don’t change for anyone, stay true to your dreams and goals and don’t give up, strive to achieve everything you want from life.

I also have a few exclusives on The Mechanism not included on any of my other work for example “Shine On” ft Median [listen here] this track is produced by Khrysis (Justus League, Little Brother) a producer I had admired a lot and loved the sound of his beats, this track is about standing tall and shining out through the crowd being original and different so that your light will never burn out, look out for a lot more from myself and Khrysis in the future. The Mechanism finishes with a snippet of the OH NO produced “Consequences” featuring T3 of Slum Village [listen here], just to give you a little taster as to what you can expect from me on the official album Timepiece. With a lot more to come on Timepiece and many different sounds and guest appearances I think The Mechanism serves as a good introduction to my music, which I encourage you all to spare some time to take a listen, you might be pleasantly surprised.
