This week we’re gonna do something different for Thursday’s Throwback then your average mixtape. Thanks to my man S.T.T.R.E.S.S. for turning me onto this video series from D-Nice, called True Hip-Hop Stories. If you’re not up on these videos, consider this your Hip-Hop History lesson for the day…
Here are a couple of my favs from the series:
In this edition of True Hip-Hop Stories, Dana Dane takes us on a journey through Fort Green Projects and discusses what motivated him to write his classic recording “Cinderfella Dana Dane.”
In this edition of True Hip-Hop Stories, Masta Ace discusses his role in creating the classic Juice Crew recording “The Symphony”.
Check out more True Hip-Hop Stories from Monie Love, Lords of The Underground, Buckshot, and many more!
Need more throwbacks? KevinNottingham.com affiliate NappyAfro.com has been celebrating Classic Week all this week, dedicating a majority of their posts to classic hip hop. Check em out!

Dana’s story makes me wish MORE brothers (now a days) tried to overcome the struggles of the geto “his” way (through education) vice the continued self-destructive methods killing us today (sorry for getting too deep). I am a product of the 80’s – 90’s so good looking for the vids. Where is Sweet Tee?!?
Huge look. This joint is butter.
These joints are massive Loved each one I watched It’s wild how most hip-hop songs become classics
