Rhymefest Breaks Down The Charles Hamilton Fiasco Part 2

by DJ Grain on March 23, 2009 · 3 comments

This is Part 2 of the Rhymefest interview in which he breaks down the disconnect between the old school and new school in the hip hop world. I still can not believe Charles Hamilton decided to go at Serius Jones and Rhymefest, individuals that are two of the best when it comes to freestyling. Unbelievable!!! Like ‘Fest said people have lost sight and respect for those that started the game, and did it before it was profitable.

REAL TALK!!! You don’t know where you’re headed unless you know where you’ve been… More artists need to sudy true hip-hop to expand and develop their art.

damn, fest is mad!! but i definately agree with him. im 19 years old and i would say that i know the most important things when it comes to hip hop history. and i hate this new generation of hip hop. kid cudi, charles hamilton… i think the problem is, that these new cats dont live after the main values of hip hop like respect, realness, etc. like fest said. i think this is the reason why many hip hop heads say that hip hop would be dead. i dont think so, but it is hard to find real hip hop artists in the mainstream, like they were a few years ago.
