Props goes to Stephen Miller for hooking this sample set up. The Pink Lavalamp by Charles Hamilton was released to the Internets on December 9, 2008 and was the last step in his Hamiltonization Process (releasing numerous mixtape to various blogs). This release was more of an album than a mixtape and was reportedly written while Charles was battling drug addiction.
It’s probably not a good time for Charles right now with him stealing the “Shinin’” track from Black Spade and Rhymesfest sonning him all over the net. I like (some of) his music even if he did steal the track and is allegedly using ghost producers.
The set flows smoothly and is a good listen. We’re missing two one sample listing…..but enjoy what we have. Links after the cut….

I’ve never been a fan of Charles Hamilton, but after hearing this dope sample set I’ll have to check this mixtape out to see how well these were flipped!
This was definately Charle’s best mixtape. This should have been his debut album. It’s a shame he leaked it to the nets cause comparing it to ever other mixtape he’s done… I doubt he can make another one as solid.
these samples are a little obvious to be honest…
This is a good project. I would call it an album and not a mixtape. Its cohesive and flows great.
I’m on it
charles hamilton is a bitch

A million props to KevinNottingham.com. One of the best hip hop sites on the web.
The Jacksons song is called Heartbreak Hotel not This Place Hotel (those words are never said in the song)… Epic/CBS changed it in future edition of the release to avoid confusion with Elvis Presley song also called Heartbreak Hotel.
But Elvis was long dead when The Jacksons release their original composition Heartbreak Hotel.
Go figure..
The original name of The Jackson song is called “This Place Hotel”.
Dude I own the TRIUMPH lp on vinyl the song is called HEARTBREAK HOTEL
Ok Dude you win!
Clown is right… the proper title is Heartbreak Hotel not This Place Hotel… they where pointing out an obvious error.
I said he was right sheila…..comment #16! lol
Yes! im glad yall are on CH’s stuff now, this is one of the up and coming cats that i really hope blows up cause he has mad talent ..the track Musicn (intro) is inspiring and is all that needs to be said…and this aint a mixtape to yall saying it is.. its the album he made before he got the deal and before the buzz..its the ‘album’ that best represents him..i think the mixtapes are a tease/preview and his album is gonna be equal to or greater than ‘the pink lavalamp’,
