Nas and 9th Wonder. COME ON NAS!!!!

9th has had so much influence on me making music. that guy’s so talented i’m glad Nas is taking notice

they should just do a completely original album together. God’s Stepson was hot in my opinion. but yeah…. that beat is nasty. i hope to Nas chooses that.

    Damn, That Beat Is Nice…

  • SeventhSun

Don’t get me wrong – I like Nas, but I just don’t get this hype, like he is some kinda hip hop god.

Apart from all types of publicity surrounding the last 2 albums, I just don’t see Nas as being THAT relevant to the game right now.
And he hasn’t really been relevant since It Was Written or maybe Takeover/Ether.

9th already did a beat for Jay – why is Nas some sort of holy grail?

But regarding the beat, and since this a beat blog – did he flip Barry White?
It sounds a bit like “Playing Your Game” to me.

  • Will UK

    OMG this beat is sick!

  • http://kevinnottingham.com Sean Deez

if he doesn’t take this.. and ends up getting C Web beats again, i probably won’t by the album

  • Brain

Honestly, if Nas doesn’t use this beat, or A 9th wonder beat on his new cd, he will be taken off my top 3 emcees of all time. He has continuously tested my patience. His last three albums have been HORRIBLY produced. Chris Webber, the fucking basketball player gets beat, and not 9TH, PETE ROCK or PREMIER??? COME ON NAS!!!!

  • J. Rizzle

The way 9th is amped..is how catz get amped when they copme on this site and hear that ill shit, see a tight vid, read a sic interview, or get the exculsive news ish…

The track is fiyah and my opinion the beats Nas sounds best spittin’ on are Premier, Dre, Alchemist and 9thWonder..leave C. Web alone cause C.Web be stealin other catz beats , jus’ like Charles Hamilton.

DAMN! this beat is sick. now just imagine nas’ voice on it!!! it would be a perfect match in my opinion.

and i think this is a sign that nas will come back with the beats and rhymes we all dug in the past.

lets hope for a change. i hated the last 2 releases!!

  • Victor

You just get that feeling that Nas wont use it despite the dopeness lol Ahh well fingers crossed!

    SeventhSun,

!!!!NAS is a HIP HOP GOD!!!

I loved the Nigger/Untitled album. Only Nas (not talib, not mos, common, not kanye, not even Jay-z) only Nas could have pulled that album off with such intelligence and swagger.

9th, ya hard work is paying off…you finally got that Nas call….i look forward to what yall come out with.

  • Random Guy

    Dope!

in reply to Seventh Sun’s first post:

To each his own, bro. you have to realize that 9th loves hip hop to death and Nas is probably on his top 5 emcees he always wanted to work with. can you imagine how hype you would be if you made a beat for one of your top 5 emcees?

dogg, it would blow my mind if i got to work with Phonte and Canibus [hoping they will see this, buy the album and work with Wax and I on one track and blow my mind.]

  • Bryan

That beat is ridiculous!!!! I gotta get back in the lab… I love when other producer’s smack me in the head with dope shit!!! thanx 9th!!!

  • Thomas

Untitled was the best album in 2008. I think everyone should know how I feel about that album. Nas is part of my generations holy trinity of rap Biggie/2Pac, Jay-Z, Nas.

you shoud change your name bossco for real. sit down yourself and write a rhyme then compare it to nas worse shit. He has no doubt taken some missteps his album’s total composition except for maybe three in total have been questionable one is out right wack and two or three of them are somewhat tiring to listen to but even those have two or three songs better than niggas whole records . Nas is my second favorite behind RA. and any nigga should be excited to even think he’d consider rapping on their shit I met dude back in 2004 we threw an after show for a UIC event. Great emcees in the room some with more record sales than him but they honor him. kicked it with KRS the fucking TEACHER ….HONORS NAS …KOOL G RAP HONORS NAS DAMN NEAR ANYONE WHO HAS PICKED A MIC UP IN THE LAST 18 YEARS HAS HONORED THE MAN SO PLEASE TELL ME WHO ARE YOU TO QUESTION HIS RELEVENCE DUDE YOU CALL YOURSELF SEVENTH SUN you dont even know the science cant expect you to recognize a true living god in the flesh

First of all, my name has nothing to do with (The Nation of) Islam.
I’m a white european, so that just wouldn’t be appropriate.

    @savior
You don’t need to tell me who Nas is.
I heard the MC Serch 12″ when it dropped, and got the Zebrahead soundtrack because I couldn’t find the Halftime 12″.

Everybody’s entitled thier own opinion, but I think it’s safe to say, that Nas doesn’t carry the weight, in the industry, that he used to.
Personally I can say, that he has never written a song that truly touched me “outside” hip hop.
Meaning: he has spitten a lot of sick lines. I respect that in a hip hop sense.
I love a song like I Gave You Power, and I actually liked a lot of stuff from The Nigga Tape, but being a white european, those topics doesn’t really relate to my life.

In contrast Jay has written Song Cry, that makes me think about my trials tribulations with women.
Sean Price has written songs about being a loser that I relate to also :-)

  • Brendan

I love a lot of stuff 9th puts out, but does anyone else feel that he is the most overrated producer in the game? So much of his shit sounds the same (especially his boom bap boring ass drums) and he bites off Pete Rock (GOAT) so much.

  • http://www.soundclick/roctendabeatmaker.com RocTen

Every producer has a distinguished sound, N a favorite producer. J Dilla, Pete Rock, RZA, Dr. Dre, Alchemist all inspired 9th as well as myself…its da quality that sales N da material u make music on////// if u rap or make beatz u would kno these things////////4.16.8 barz

  • http://www.myspace.com/cvillainthenomads C-Villain

this is straight fireeee! shit bangs, that first beat change up is crazy

  • Renz Bernard

This is CRACK!!!!! Nas needs to have an album with just 9th…Premier….,Just Blaze…..and Kanye…..

  • http://www.myspace.com/abstraktsoundz Abstrakt Soundz

mann.. i hope nas dont back out like he did with the “Premo” project… cuz man.. i wanted that one SOOOOOOOOoo bad… fake ass creative differences. :-/

  • Locker 258

I feel this could be a great deal down the road and revive the TRUE hip hop scene.

Just like when Kanye West produced Common’s “BE” album, 9th Wonder producing a Nas album would be siiiiiiick. If he would get Talib Kweli, Mos Def, MF Doom, Jay Electronica, Kid Cudi, and/or Jay Cole to come on his album, it’d be a milestone of bridging the old school with the new school and it would be an amazing joint.

Get Just Blaze to produce some beats as well. If J Dilla were still here, him and 9th Wonder producing a Nas album would be an instant classic. But Nas would have to reach deep into his mind and stop putting out that mainstream rap. Put out some of that “He Could Pass a Polygraph”…
