Spotted this over at IllRoots. Someone had told me that Vibe created a Top 50 list of hip hop blogs. I almost picked the magazine up out of curiosity and to see if we made the cut. Unfortunately we did not. I ain’t mad… these lists are usually biased anyway. Illroots did make. Neither did OkayPlayer, RealTalkNY, and a ton of others that I frequent. Props to those who made it though. I got some research to do, cuz there are a handful listed that I had never heard of. I’d be interested in seeing one of these lists based off the numbers though, not by someone’s opinion. Props to RapRadar for being the fastest growing site in history! They’ve been online less than 2 months now and made number 10. Hit the jump for the full list. Thoughts? What other blogs do you frequent?

Even though you didn’t make the list, on the real, I appreciate your hard work and dedication to this art form. In the end, longevity and just being able to keep doing what you love doing is the true measure of success (in my opinion). i go two 3 rap sites inculding this one, rapbasment, allhiphop, this site, and hiphopcanada RARELY! (just to see my shit up there haha) i don’t think rapbasement is even on this list

They played themselves not putting you on there, Kev, considering you won music lover blog of the year last year. It’s ok, let em sleep, some of those sites on the list aren’t even blogs. Worldstarhiphop is not a blog. Vibe credibility fail. Real cats know the deal and that’s it about original content, not getting the latest Gucci Mane joint first.

Kanye’s Blog #2? I mean come on its all meanstream I learned much more about hip hop with Kev than with Kanye whats up wit dat!?? agree with Sean, most of these blogs do the same thing. there must be a printing error or somethin…
I have 22 of those sites above on my reader. Its a little disappointing not to see Kev on the list, but a lot of blogs on that list respect what Kev does.
I think there is a lane for all types of blogs. Kev is good at what he does and so is many of the sites on the list.

This should have been #1. Honestly, all those other Hip Hop” website blogs cater entirely to much to the mainstream.
This list sucks for so many different reasons. AllHipHop rumors is the worst! DNice didn’t get any mention??? Kim Osorio??? WOW…this list is ridiculous.
I got a bunch of emails today telling me how upset these people were that we didn’t make this list.
As I said, I think a majority of these sites do the same thing and it becomes a “who can get the hot shit first” race for the most part.

Kev’s site has been built brick by brick and one reader at a time….the Big boys respect what Kev and the site brings to the internet hip hop world.
It would have been nice to be on the list, but not a biggie…just got to work harder to reach more people!

Rap Radar is only on because Danyel – his wife is EIC of VIbe. Let’s be real – it’s not the fastest growing HH site. This list is sad. I mean a lot of the sites on there should be but their ranking is ALL OFF. That’s why Vibe needs to die. Unattached and delirious.

this site is dope always posts good music interviews people on the rise and the people that run it actually believe in the stuff they post.On another note I wouldnt want to be associated with anything vibe has to say they are in the toilet right now and would be lucky to last the year

Vibe made the list. They are not even in my top 10 magazines to read. And seriously, Kanye’s Blog made the list? This site is to real to be affiliated with that nonsense. Remember applause is hollow and to be recognized by fools is no compliment. Keep doing what it do.
