yo as a fellow blogger, and avid follower of this site, I would like to say my blog does similar things to others, but this blog by Kevin is completely different than others. The sample sets are amazing, the discussions are fun, and on top of that, everything is monitored and fair. Along with all this the contests are fun, and this site actually gives a chance to new acts, and underground hip hop. Top 50? nah, easily Top 25!

Deez man you hit the nail on the head….I can’t dven remember how I happened on this site about 9 months ago…i think I was looking for some cool beat tapes to spit over…and man I just fell in love…the whole staff from freddie c to deez to kev man…ya’ll make this feel homely…real family. i go in the cbox and start convo’s and hop in on convo’s and everything feels and sounds relevant…

I dun found producers and emcees and just plain ol good music that I really wouldn’t have found myself…i have so much confidence going to this site EVEY morning knowing I’ma find quality posts and threads and articles and reveiws. It makes me feel good to know there are still heads who sincerely care about the culture itself, not just the random foolishness that goes on…there’s alot of d*ck riding in otha blog spots where popularity contests overshadow the music..like who knows who…like deez, you manage remot right? i can’t even tell you how many times i’ve seen a plug for him on here…you know why? cause i haven’t. ya’ll just focus on putting out quality and not “yo this my man so he’s on every otha post”. I respect ya’ll so much.

well done once again deezee. long time. anyway i gotta say that the last section is thee most poignant of the piece. every other site i check for has a whole load of dissing going on. only TSS to an extent is the same. This is why i frequent these pages regularly.

Also, is it me or are there a lot of affiliated blogs on that list. i count 6 or 7 in the top 20 that are regularly patting each other on the back. and i dont ever see one in depth piece in any of those blogs.

now i try to speak on different topics directly or indirectly inluenced or influencing Hip Hop & many of these sites don’t even try. and i’m doing it from an outside perspective (UK)

these blogs hold an awful lot of weight & they should try to bring something else to the table also. KN (and many others) does just that.

Before I moved out here to Hawaii my homeboy would always hook me up with music since he introduced me to the movement. Ever since leaving I had fallen behind in the scene and I always desired more music and expanding my knowledge in the underground. This is the place I found first, and since then have never turned from it. Who gives a shit about what some half-assed magazine thinks? Myself, along with the rest of the community seen here, love, support, and respect this blog and the work you put into it. Just seeing everything you’ve done here, we can all pretty much agree that you play a big part in the underground hip hop (or even just hip hop in general) movement, and of course, you are the shit. Keep doing your thing Kev, because here is where we find the true meaning of hip hop. Peace.

Man listen I’ll try to not to go on a rant, but the Vibe blog list falls along the lines of the bogus greatest/top emcees list. I take it as entertainment more then newsworthy information.
What you guys do here is great and I hope you guys continue with the integrity of the site as you move forward with things. I know it leaves you salty on the no mention but it’s clear that these folks don’t have their fingers on the pulse of things to know what’s up.

You guys are the fingers that keep the pulse on what’s newsworthy and what’s going on along with great extras. Vibe can go stir up some madness else where. I have some other choice words for Vibe, but I’ll keep it classy like Ron Burgundy.

VIBE is a struggling, soon-to-be-defunct magazine that is doing everything in its power to stay afloat. The magazine industry is losing readers to the blogosphere @ an alarming rate, and VIBE, in an effort to remain relevant, has put out a lot of controversial lists in order to remain in everyone’s mouthpiece. VIBE is basically swagger-jacking BYRON CRAWFORD: BYRON is famous for hating on almost EVERYTHING, he pisses off a bunch of people with his opinions, therefore, people get upset and talk about him, and that’s what VIBE is doing. No need to get upset about not being on that list, because once VIBE is forced to close down their magazine doors and enter the internet world exclusively, they’ll be begging a site like this to feature them on a “MAGAZINES THAT WE USED TO LOVE” list. This site has more exclusives than any other blog I’ve ever visited, you guys break more artists, and you have the best layout, bar none. VIBE=irrelevant. KN’S BLOG=unlimited potential. Although I dimissed the list originally, it was questionable in the back of my head, still.
I mean, this isn’t about ‘tooting our own horn’ rather wondering what the fuck is up.

Nonetheless, I can probably say nobody on the team is looking for that ‘fame.’ Nobody is driven off of these list. We love what we do, we stand behind what we write, and regardless of whether 5 people view the site or 1500, hip-hop stays alive.
