One of my favorite emcee’s, Talib Kweli, just sent this over so you know I gotta support! Blacksmith Music presents another banger from acclaimed female emcee Jean Grae. In an industry dominated by rap groups and their choreographed dance moves, Jean Grae steps in to set the record straight. The “Stick Up Dance” is the Brooklyn version of these neighborhood dances merged with the heavy lyrics that everyone expects from an MC like Jean Grae.
Talib and Jean want to see your version of the “Stick Up Dance”. Submissions must be received by Monday, so you got the weekend to figure something out. Hit the jump for the full details…
This coming Monday, May 25th is the deadline for submissions for the new Jean Grae video for “Stick Up Dance”. We are excited to invite all of her friends to record their own version of the Stick Up Dance. Record your own version on a digital camera, cell phone, or laptop and send it to stickupdance@gmail.com. Have fun, be creative and, most importantly, be original! Go solo, or have your friends join in! Those chosen will receive exclusive Blacksmith music and access to an upcoming Blacksmith event. Contact stickupdance@gmail.com with any questions.
