this one episode of Busta TV is more creative, witty, and satisfying than his whole album.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CICO_H7_T4E&feature=player_embedded

his dub on Drake's Best I Ever Had is also arguably the best thing I've heard him do this year... there's nothing on his album that is as fun and refreshing as this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5S97PirUCDE

I'm a Busta Rhymes fan and supporter... but I refuse to accept him being mediocre.

I certainly don't believe it's over for him... he just needs to stop following trends, and start being a LEADER OF THE NEW SCHOOL again.

I feel like this was more a bad choice of songs for the album. the i bs you not mixtape was hot and cud have been the album. and he gave us alot of good songs during 09 but didnt put them on the album.

Great busta songs of 09 featured or made by himsef:
1.piano man
2.renaissance rap
3.stick up music

these show he can still do it. Ultimately it was a poor song selection for the album. Not that he has no good material left.

"Stop making it so hard to respect your conglomerate, Trevor. I might respect it more if you didn’t throw Lord Have Mercy off the board of directors."

I couldn't agree more. No, I'm not kidding, it's literally impossible for me to agree more than this.

I hope Busta happens to read the comments from this site to see how disappointed people were with this album! I was expecting some crazy Busta classics to come from this album but all I got was an album that, after one listen to, will now collect dust!!!

Damn!!!
I just hope Raekwon doesn't disappoint with OB4CL2!!!!

in my opinion, this is a typical example of whats wrong with hip hop nowadays, established artists are basically running out of ideas, so to fullfill their contracts, they put out any old BS, and hope it sells, hence the reason why gimmicks like autotune is used. but i've not lost all hope for hip-hop though, i've said for a while now, the best hip-hop albums are mix tapes, they are made for the streets, and artists have the freedom to express themselves without the pressure of having to make money off the next release. (corporate) hip hop is dead, but the underground (mix tapes) is alive and well!

Busta is the Excutive Producer of the album....probably had a BIG hand in picking the tracks for the final product. Artist should A&R their own project. Need a fresh set of eyes/ears on the product.

It use to be that the major labels only wanted 3 songs from your album that they could "market" to radio....now it seems they want half the album.

There aren't many artist on major labels that can make the music they really want to. Ye, Em, Jay, Nas (maybe)...anyone else?

Throw Da Water on Em had a lot of people hyped that Busta was back and better than ever (Including me). Maybe Diddy had too much $$ out of the publishing (his production crew made the beat).

To be honest, since he moved to aftermath i felt he lost some of his reggae inspired energy man. He used to be off the wall and now he is coming off a bit by the numbers. The mixtape before this was dope though, maybe we can give this a pass and blame it on industry politricks.

I love hip hop.
I would rather listen to ANY thing in the world more than the new Busta album. I'd rather listen to a Kid Cudi outtakes mixtape. I'd rather listen to Eminem's most homoerotic psychotic songs on repeat. I'd rather listen to every random indie rapper in the world's YouTube dubs over Busta's album beats than listen to his actual album.

and mostly, I'd rather listen to any one of Busta's other albums, or any of his classic LONS music. We can extremely disagree on the quality of this album, but if you think this review comes from someone who has no idea about Trevor "Busta Rhymes" Smith's extensive rap catalogue, you are sadly mistaken.

mad love and hella peace to y'all. I love mature hip hop discussions :)

stay dope, family.

AND IF BUSTA RHYMES OR ANY BODY HE KNOWS READS THIS, DON'T FORGET THE LOVE THAT I PUT IN THERE. AS ONE OF HIS LIFELONG FANS, I REFUSE TO ACCEPT THIS SUBSTANDARD RAP FROM HIM. I KNOW HE CAN DO BETTER, AND I AWAIT THE DAY I HEAR HIM SIT DOWN WITH SALAAM REMI AND DJ SCRATCH AND FINALLY MAKE THE MYTHICAL, CLASSIC 'DUNGEON DRAGON' ALBUM! :)
love, Mindbender

stay dope, family.

AND IF BUSTA RHYMES OR ANY BODY HE KNOWS READS THIS, DON’T FORGET THE LOVE THAT I PUT IN THERE. AS ONE OF HIS LIFELONG FANS, I REFUSE TO ACCEPT THIS SUBSTANDARD RAP FROM HIM. I KNOW HE CAN DO BETTER, AND I AWAIT THE DAY I HEAR HIM SIT DOWN WITH SALAAM REMI AND DJ SCRATCH AND FINALLY MAKE THE MYTHICAL, CLASSIC ‘DUNGEON DRAGON’ ALBUM!
love, Mindbender

but S.T.T.R.E.S.S. isnt that the point. he was outside of the box for so long. and now he isn't with something like anarchy he was the same. but the quality of what he did bring (jay z copycat and all) was nice. on BOMB its just not there at all. in my view anyway.
