I know you were hype when you seen the post right? First, this is not a “new” track from Premier and Jay. Someone combined Jay’s vocals from “Pray” off of American Gangster and blended it with DJ Premier’s “Sing Like Bilal” off of his 2008 instrumental album Beats That Collected Dust. This has been floating around the internet (props to herfection) and Twitter for at least a week.
I would love for Jay and Premier to get back together for at least one track. Jay sounds so natural over Premier’s multi-layered tracks. “D’Evils,” “Friend or Foe,” “So Ghetto,” “Intro/A Million And One questions/Rhyme No More,” etc were great tracks.
From what Premier says Jay turned down one of his tracks for American Gangster and hasn’t reached out to him for work (peep video).
Anyhoo, I can go on all day about this. Last thing Kev and I talk about this all the time…what producers would our perfect Jay-Z album have on it? Here’s my list….what’s yours….
1. The Neptunes (1 track, first single).
2. Timbaland (1 track, second single).
3. Bink! (1 track) (featured guest Beanie Sigel).
4. Ski (2 tracks).
5. Dr. Dre (2 tracks) (featured guest Mary J. Blige on 1 track).
6. DJ Premier (3 tracks) (featured guest Nas on 1 track).
7. Kanye West (3 tracks) (featured guest Scarface on 1 track).
8. Just Blaze (3 Tracks).

I picked The Neptunes and Timbaland because they gave Jay three of his biggest singles. “Give It To You,” “Big Pimpin,” “Dirt Off Shoulders” and even for that matter “Change Clothes” was an ok song. Plus “Allure” was fiayh to me.
Never can have enough Premier and Jay….3 is a good number…matches RD.

I could easily replace Dr. Dre with 9th, No I.D., or Ty Fyffe
