Jean-David Aime, Jr (AIME) knew he had a gift for putting words together after writing his first rhyme as a 6th grader. AIME continued to hone his craft by performing raps for class projects and performing for his friends, however, he eventually stopped rapping because of his family’s belief’s regarding Hip-Hop music.
After his family moved to Pennsylvania AIME connected with another rapper in high school that rekindled his love for writing and music. Since this chance meeting the Temple University student hasn’t looked back. After the cut Get To Know AIME….
Where You Reppin:
Queens, NY and the Poconos, PA
Introduce Yourself:
I’m AIME, the college kid with wit and class. I fell in love with Hip Hop in 9th grade after moving to PA from New York.
I started to rap seriously in my sophomore year, getting random ooh’s and ahh’s in the hallways of my high school. I got to college and decided to focus and create an actual project. After releasing the Aime for the Sky mixtape last September, I began receiving a lot of buzz online and on college campuses around mine, Temple University. Now with shows, competition wins under my belt, and new singles off of the upcoming Class Act, I’m ready to increase my hype and make great music.
Current projects we should be looking out for:
Class Act
Previous work that we should know about:
The Aime for the Sky Mixtape [download]
Main musical inspirations:
Black Star, Lupe Fiasco, Joe Budden, Kanye West
If you had to pick one song that defines your career to date, what song would that be?
I don’t think one song can define my career thus far, but if I had to choose it would have to be Lupe Fiasco’s “Gold Watch”
Why should the readers and fans give you a shot and listen to your music from here on out?
I’m a fresh take on rap, and I don’t do it for the hype or the female attention.
What’s next for you?
The release of Class Act later this summer and openings for artists like Mickey Factz.
Desert Island Hip Hop: If you could only take one record on a deserted island with you, what album would that be?
Mos Def & Talib Kweli are Black Star
Any shout outs or last words?
Dizzur, Danimal the Animal, Brandy my PR, Neasy, Queens, the Poconos where they poke the hoes, and all my folk at TU…what it do!

Appreciate the post, it’s a great look! I thought the answers were supposed to be short and to the point, didn’t wanna seem long-winded and full of myself. My bad Deez, I would’ve been more in-depth
It’s all good.
One great thing about our site is that we are able to go so in depth about anything, we really don’t have limits and that’s seen by our reviews and some of our previous interviews. These spotlights are set up to give YOU the spotlight.
I just suggest take full advantage of these, give all and any info on particulars if possible. We love in depth and look forward to reading them. It’s just as an excited reader, I was left wondering a lot, a LOT about you.
I’m sure we’ll get to know more
Always good to here an MC that has a style that takes it back to the essence of what rhyming used to be like.Keep doing your thing AIME.

Some feedback from the artist. What can we to make the “Get to Know” questions/interview a little better? Should we add more questions, give better directions, etc.
We need feedback….always trying to improve.
thanks for the comments and feedback yall PEACE
Lol honestly if you just added “Why?” after the initial question I would have elaborated thoroughly. The questions were fine. Do you want me to re-answer them or answer new questions and make a new spotlight? Or would that be too much lol
And thanks MaG and S.T.T.R.E.S.S., appreciate the love. I’m glad ya’ll are feeling Danimal’s production, too; he’s got some HEAT. Class Act should be coming out later this summer, a HUGE step up from the Aime for the Sky Mixtape in content, creativity, and delivery
feeling the material and the glimpse into the person…peace and blessings
