D.O.A. (Death Of Autotune): Original Sample

Before another person sends this to me, I’m just gonna go ahead and post it. Normally we wait and do full album sample sets, but this time I’ll make an exception. Spotted over my homie J.D.’s spot, HipHopUpdate. If your not up on HHU, you don’t know nothin… lol. Anyway, I don’t know who found the original sample in record breaking time, but props to whoever did; I can’t take the credit for this one. Producer No I.D. really hooked the beat up nice for Jay, sampling an old psychadelic tune — “In the Space” by Janko Nilovic & Dave Sucky. Grab it after the cut.

Amazing find. From what i listened on youtube there’s some other great songs on this album. I Can see some producers running to sample more from this one =)

Sounds a lot like “Git Up, Get Out,” also.

What’s the sample for that one?

Super dope…especially considering that poor guy with the name “Sucky” probably got his ass kicked all thru grade school. Kudos!

Psych joints have always been known for drums!!! Wow, this is no exception and this was put up in record (pun intended) time!!! I agree with you, Kev!

check the site note #20, and it will show you who actually found the sample first. It wasn’t HHU. Before they ‘edited’ the post, I personally copied what was stated on there, below, and showed Ivan. He even saw it for himself..

“Within hours, rap blog Hip Hop Is Read correctly identified a Janko Nilovic song by the name of “In the Space” as the sample for “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)”.”

I never said HHU found the sample first, I said that I didn’t know… not that it matters anyway. But thanks for clearing that up Eric.

my bad, Kevin. I should’ve read it correctly, you didnt say that.. you ’spotted it’ over at another site. i didnt mean to come off wrong, if it sounded that way.

Yo, can you re-post the link? It has been removed. Thanks in advance.
