Summer Intern Wanted: Apply Within

Help Wanted

So I figure to help alleviate some of the load I have right now, asking for help seems like a pretty good idea. I have more than enough content for the site, but no time to post it. So consider this a “Help Wanted” ad. I’ve gotten a few offers from people willing to help, but I need someone with some experience. So if you’re interested in becoming part of an award winning team, hit the jump to see what qualifications I’m looking for and apply within…

We are looking for someone who has a lot of time on their hands. The ideal candidate would be a high school or college student out of school for the summer, though that is not necessarily a requirement. I am looking for someone that I can email articles any time of the day to post within a reasonable amount of time. The following experience is a must:

  1. Experience in WordPress blogging platform
  2. Basic experience in Photoshop or other graphics program
  3. Basic experience in html and web technologies
  4. Ability to follow instructions, meet site guidelines and use common sense
  5. English as a first language, preferably… grammar is important

The position will be considered a temporary internship, with the opportunity to stay on full time. There is no pay involved; however, you will be fully recognized for your contributions and depending on your location, may receive perks such as access to shows in your area and opportunities to meet with artists promoted on the site.  This is also a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in blogging or journalism.

If you are interested in applying, leave a comment below with your qualifications and I’ll get back to you.

Just because it’s not paid, it doesn’t mean its not a great opportunity.

I can say first hand, working for KevinNottingham.com has essentially changed my life and my career path… it has only opened up more doors for me

Hey Kevin, I’d love to do this.

I just finished my freshman year at LSU. I’m a journalism major and I’m really looking to break into hip hop journalism somehow. I’m also a dj for our radio station KLSU, I do the hip hop show Underground Sounds (http://www.klsuradio.fm/underground-sounds/ )

1. I’ve done blogging using wordpress before
2. I’ve done plenty of photoshop, used it in a yearbook class as well.
3. I have some basic experience here
4. Can do
5. English is my first language

1. Experience in WordPress blogging platform
I’ve designed about 6 or 7 websites using wp as the back-end CMS
2. Basic experience in Photoshop or other graphics program
Been using it for about 5years now
3. Basic experience in html and web technologies
asp.net, PHP, actionscript, HTML, css
4. Ability to follow instructions, meet site guidelines and use common sense
I think I’m doing alright so far…
5. English as a first language, preferably… grammar is important
English is my first language, and since spell check, I’ve been holding down literary devices for a minute…

This opportunity to even apply is too good to be true
1:I have minimal experience with Word Press
2.: I work in photoshop a lot, designed the cover of one of my year books as well as making custom digital art, feel free to email me if you want to see any portfolio type things.
3: Basic experience with html and I own Microsoft Dreamweaver as well.
4:100% dedicated to doing what it takes to help out
5: English is my first language although I do have background studying French, Spanish, Latin, Hebrew and Chinese (Mandarin).

I just finished my first year of college and would be willing/greatly desire to help out with the site. I am very good with computers and electronics so I am fully confident that I will be able to pick up Word Press and HTML fast. I am currently working on a blog at dawhat.blogspot.com with a couple of my friends. My interest n blogging is based solely on this site, as I check it multiple times a day. Thanks for the opportunity.

Sound like an interesting prospect. I was just looking for a way to get involved, so this post is a good look. I’m a senior in college, English and Japanese minor, I doubt that that Japanese will come in handy here. I ‘m from ATL, but I’m usually in Florida. When I was in high school, I had some pieces in the local paper, nothing too serious. Might be able to give DJGrain some help with those Georgia/Florida stories.
1. Experience in WordPress blogging platform
Never used WordPress, I usually just type in Notepad and HTML.
2. Basic experience in Photoshop or other graphics program
Used to use Adobe, now since I’m in school, I don’t mess with it.
3. Basic experience in html and web technologies
I’ve been using HTML and designing websites for the last eight years or so.
4. Ability to follow instructions, meet site guidelines and use common sense.
That’s a given.
5. English as a first language, preferably… grammar is important
I think I got a basic command of the English language.

Wow, a lot more responses than I expected! I might end up taking on 2 interns since there’s so much interest. Let me look through all these and I’ll let you all know. Please don’t be offended if you don’t end up getting chosen. I will keep those who do not get picked in mind for the future. Thanks!

Hey wassup, I wanted to offer my help if it was still possible. I am a computer science major at the university of maryland and am entering my last year of school there. I also produce and am currently working on a website project to coincide with a mixtape that two of my friends as well as my self are producing tracks for that we are hoping to drop later this summer.

1. Experience in WordPress blogging platform — Not too much, but I am a very fast learner
2. Basic experience in Photoshop or other graphics program — I use photoshop for a number of things, especially web design related projects
3. Basic experience in html and web technologies — I am focusing the course work on my major in html and web design as it is a field I would like to go into after school is over. I am fairly proficient in using html, css, and flash.
4. Ability to follow instructions, meet site guidelines and use common sense — I am a very punctual person, so it is no problem for me to meet deadlines
5. English as a first language, preferably… grammar is important — No problems here, I do not know any other language than english.

I appreciate your consideration. Thanks
