Rapper/Producer Slim Chance has been building a name for himself on the underground scene for the last couple of years.  Slim’s hard work paid off last year when he was able to produce a track for Camron.  Although the track didn’t make Crime Pays it was well received on the internet.

The Rochester, New York native has a mixtape dropping soon and a compilation coming out later this year.  Let’s get to know Slim Chance…

Where You Reppin:

I represent Rochester NY 585 aka roccity, My team BFTB, my company Slim Chance Ent.

Introduce Yourself:

Slim Chance Rochester’s hottest producer, emcee, engineer, graphic designer, CPU technician, yes i do it all.  The whole shebang even videos.

slim_chance-3-200Current projects we should be looking out for:

Compilation I’m doing with Little Italy (my partner) featuring Killah Priest, Soloman Child, Chaundon, Camron, and many more..untitled

Previous work that we should know about:

Well I just recently did the “Come See Killa” beat for Camron, thanks to Duke Da God for getting me in there, a lot of underground and unreleased stuff.  I worked and still produce for 106 and park freestyle champion Sincere the great.  Threw a lot of beats out there I didn’t get credit for..paid either so I wont mention those.

Main musical inspirations:slim_chance-2-200
My city, mid 90’s hip hop, Wu era early Dipset, Heatmakers.

If you had to pick one song that defines your career to date, what song would that be?

“I Used to Love Her” by Common because it is the reason I started making beats and rhyming…its still very relevant today.

Why should the readers and fans give you a shot and listen to your music from here on out?

I am a breath of fresh air to the culture of  Hip-Hop….not your every day bubblegum or down south beats.  I touch all areas.  I got something for all ears.  Music and not just noise.

What’s next for you?

More work in all areas, magazine articles, beats, design, everything.

Desert Island Hip Hop: If you could only take one record on a deserted island with you, what album would that be?

Funk Master Flex 60 min of Funk Vol 1 & 2 sorry had to pick both.

Any shout outs or last words?

Shouts 2 the whole 585 Rochester, Sierman the fireman, little Italy, Steiz, my fam, Kerrah Phillips, Envy, Duke Da God, Ghosttown, Troy Smith from the Insider magazine, and Kevin his site is fire.
