Charles Hamilton’s debut album is hitting retail sometime in August, but he is releasing it for online for FREE on June 16? Apparently, the physical album will be released in a different format than the digital one [read interview].
I think the dude is talented. I thought The Pink Lavalamp [sample set] was good music, but he stays with some negative press. If its not beef with Soulja Boy [here], its problems with Rhymefest [here, here & here], or the alleged stolen track [here & here], and the mess with naming J Dilla as his executive producer, and the backlash [here].
Anyhoo, not only is he releasing the album for FREE, but he also revealed the sample sources. The opportunist that we are….we quickly tracked those samples down! Hit the cut for the samples and sound off on what you think about this fu*@ery as they say on the internet…

Hey hopefully somebody can answer my question. How do the legal issues go in terms of sampling an old record in a song. Like does Kanye pay artists to sample their music in Jay Z’s tracks, or what? An answer would be much appreciated.
Check our post on Sampling Legally….

check out my post on here called :Legal Sampling”
interesting… he’d totally love our site then
someone should holler at him. KEV… holler!
Hit up Charles Hamilton? Nah, I got better things to do than waste my time on him.
Tears of fear is a dope track. Crooked I goes in on that joint. I’ll send him a link on twitter later this week, he’s been silent since that J Dilla nonsense.
im a CH fan but that dilla ish was way out of line.. you dont disrespect Dilla or anyone who has passed for that matter…looking forward to this album tho .. see if he lives up to all this hype , cause the pink lavalamp was ill!!
lmao @ Kev
Hey and like how does this album work? Like did he make those songs. Or what. I dont understand what this guy does or how all of those songs are produced. Are these the original tracks from famous bands. Or are these already mixed by charles hamilton? Sorry bout all the questions, i just dont know a damn thing.
by the way, thanks for the reply on the lagal sampling. Much appreciated.
I just think its funny he’s releasing his “debut” for free and acting like that’s a good thing. He is good but I think this will be the thing to make him stay a mixtape-as-albums type of guy forever. The Dilla situation is another hurdle he needs to jump over. He has a lot of things in his way such as being professional, marketing etc.
Maybe these are just “rookie” mistakes. IDK.
@tscassid
These are the original songs that Hamilton used to make his beats.
@Danimal
The Pink Lavalamp is dope. One of the best “albums” I’ve ever heard. Too bad it will never see an actual release because it really is a dope ass album.
Talented? So are Capuchin Monkey’s..http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0gTG4nPcG98yM/610x.jpg
‘cant support an artist that dont respect the elders, originators.
First let me say that Kobe Bryant is the man. The finals just ended.
Anyway, Chris Hamilton hype doesn’t make sense to me. I don’t see the magic that you guys are talking about. In other words, I think he sucks. And ever since he got snuffed by that chick in that viral video (check youtube), I can’t even hear one of his songs. Again, he sucks.
so like if you mix up a song enough to where it is unrecognizable (for the average ear) then you can use it?
ayyo tcassid did you ever get at my email?
lol @ him thinking dilla would want him to do something like that
i’ll listen to the album because there’s mad hype, but if it sucks then i’ll stop paying attention.
til then, ignore charles hamilton!
@ RNP my bad, i forget RNP i will tho. You dont have face book or nothin? ima grab your email tho. peace
I’ll check this sample set. Good work, guys.
But CH, man, he should not get any love or hype anywhere. I should not know his name. I mean, look, he pulls the most disrespectful stunt with using Dillas name on purpose to create more hype, totally disrespecting the dead. And wtf happens?! Heads on the internet falling for it and still wanting to hear this clown’s music.
I don’t wish harm on anyone. But I do wish that girl that punched him in the face would finish him off and stomp his exploiting oppurtunistic punk ass out.
He should get no mentions anywhere. Tight clothes wearing batty boy.
Uh oh, maybe I shouldn’t hit post cause he might wanna ‘talk’ to me on why I cant stands ‘em. Lol
I dig some of dudes music…mostly Pink Lavalamp. The whole thing with the Dilla thing was disrespectful and in poor taste. But, lets be honest there are a lot of people eating off of Dilla since his death. CH is just an easy target because he’s dumb.
Not taking up for him tho.
Plus, its a sample set with nine songs that we haven’t covered on the site yet.
@verge
The Dilla situation was definitely him trying to create more hype. And then he blows it off as though it’s alright.
Totally not cool. And yeah, he’ll have a blog up soon mentioning your name. He spends way too much time on the internetsss. If he spent more time working on himself, he would be getting PAID for this album.
“To The Other Man” by Luther Ingram was sampled already by Dilla…twice. He used it for Ghostface’s “Whip You With A Strap” and for “Gobstopper” from Donuts. I guess it shouldn’t be a surprise that this fucking kid used the song again though. Especially considering that Dilla was executive producing his album during all those late-night seances he was having….
Thomas- I wasn’t trying to dis this post. This guy’s name just irks me.
Everything he seems to do is in poor taste. Anything to promote himself, no matter what hip hop rules he breaks, or who he disrespects or shits on.

Anyway, dope sample set.
@verge
No offense taken.
“Everything he seems to do is in poor taste.”
^^
Recently this is true. I’m chalking it up as youth from a recovering addict. Maybe he needs a rush from something since he doesn’t have the “high” anymore. Now I’m not making light of his addiction/recovery I’m just saying.
I already used Street player by Chicago for 44th K-OS Yes Sir Mixtape lets see if this lil punk cut it up differently
Kev whats up wit the hate? “i better things to do then waste my time on him”
