Israeli-American Kosha Dillz smashed the Boost Mobile/Hot 97  MC battle at SUMMER JAM 2009 this past sunday. Kosha dominated the 12 man emcee battle with witty freestyles that earned him a record deal with legendary Brooklyn based record label, Duckdown Records.  Later this week, Kosha will record a track with hip-hop veteran Buckshot.  As Peter Rosenberg and Cipha Sounds described Kosha Dillz And Asher Roth on their critically acclaimed morning show, it is the “Year of the White Guy.” Lets see what’s next for the promising champ!

I’m way more excited to hear that Duckdown is doing their thang vs. this guy’s rhymes. Not saying he doesn’t have skills but how many “battle rappers” have transitioned their flows into a real commercial success? Without the crowd’s ooohhhs, ahhhhhs, and oh *ish! most of these guys just sound okay over a studio album. I’m still waiting to get as excited over a Serius Jones project the way I was when I saw him battle.
