@Kev – I think the hustling analogy he used is basically saying “T-Pain is good to do it (and a select couple others), but if anyone else tries it they are encroaching on T-Pain’s ‘market’ and are in the wrong.” I just think Jay is a BRILLIANT strategist for this (cold too!) and a perfect way to get people interested in his album on his new label.
T-Pain’s market? I think Cher and Twix already established that market a few years before.

This is a brilliant strategy to jump on something that was probably already on it’s way out and then take credit for killing it…I LOVE IT! If everyone who reads this is completely honest you would have to admit it that it was way overdone and the ‘band wagon was already full.

That autotune shit was never hot to me in the 1st place. But I’m not in the target demographic and according to the target demographic it was the hottest thing on earth. So I guess, according to this same target demographic, everything Jay Z says is gospel, now? Damn shame that Joe Camel looking asshole is the King of hip hop right now. Just my thoughts, don’t blaze them heaters at me now. Lol . I’m glad that shit is over, but sad that it ended because this guy said so, not because it was fucking garbage to begin with.

My answer to that is if you are any cat that has any autotune anytime, we don’t need you in any labs anywhere, ever.
