Kev Brown

I gotta admit, this is one dude that we don’t feature enough on the site and I’m a huge fan. Thankfully Put Me On It just hit me up with this new track from Kev Brown. This track is off his new album, Random Joints, which should be dropping this fall. We should be hearing a lot more from Kev Brown this year as he is also executively producing HiPNOTT Records’ Speek Greene’s album, The Long Look.

OMG! Kevin, are you serious? I know, I’ve asked him about that joint a long time ago, its been over 3 YEARS, and he was like “I’m not sure if I was even considering putting it out. It’s been a long road, and I’m still dealing with the industry ills.” Then he shot me his EXCLUSIVE JOINTS EP. Do you have it? Ill shoot it to you if you dont..

So, now I FINALLY have an answer. I hope he puts the “Versatility Joint” on there.. SICK instrumentation! Dude did a Busta Rhymes joint, but it never made it to the album. So hopefully, this time around he finally gets his shine like he deserves.

Kev Brown is one of the most underrated producers ever…..seriously….this dude just producers fire…..homie seems sooo humble with it too. Great attitude towards the game, great attitude towards hip hop….we need more like this dude….

For the record, I’ve never gotten into Kev’s sound. I can certainly appreciate it and I know the homie is dope as hell.. but his sound just ain’t navigating with me

Good Lookin’ Kev…dude beats and production is so sic wid it :-) one of the cats that’s helping puttin’ the DMV on the map…reppin’ Landover, MD

Deez have u checked out his remix cd “The Brown Album”, his interpertation of Jay-Z’s the “Black Album”? The joint is hella tight.

The DMV has sum tight as hip-hop beatsmith’s such as Oddisee, Graph Luva (who is he realetd too?, the question of the dya, lol) , slimkat 78, Judah and etc., the DMV may be known for go-go but we have a buzzin’ hip-hop scene yes indeed

I liked the previous “Random Joint” better where he said “I used to send beats to G-Unit and all them clowns” but this is dope.

Deez, definitely check “The Brown Album”, probably the best Black album remix LP. “I Do What I Do” was a dope solo debut too. Kev’s music is definitely for certain moods, I call it “rainy-day rap” haha.
