Producer CEO: Illmind [Part 5]

In our final segment with Illmind, our spotlighted Producer CEO talks in-depth about effective networking, translating personal relationships into mutually beneficial monetary ones, as well as staying busy and how perfecting your craft is the first and most important part of building your brand. We definitely want to thank Illmind for taking his time to contribute to this series and to all of you for watching. Hopefully you were able to take away something to benefit yourselves or an upcoming producer you might know.

I’d like to personally thanks John Public for coming to me with this idea and putting everything together for this series. We thinking about who to hit up next for our Producer CEO series. John has been working hard at getting to DJ Premier, but hasn’t been able to get him to commit yet. What producer would you like to see next in this series?

I’ve always liked Illmind. Good look on this one!

its sad to see this come to an end, but great stuff John, great stuff Illmind.

Thanks for all the necessary info and help. I’m sure this has certainly shed light on a dark area for producers all over and provided hints of optimism about their work.

This was a good one. I’ve learned knowing the right people is great, but, it can only take you so far, you still need that great product to deliver.

I’d love to see one with Madlib, I hear he’s a big fan of our site.

no doubt, i appreciate the support this series has gotten after just the first episode, and like Deez said, hopefully it’s helped someone out there. but no worries, we’re workin on some other producers as we speak, we’re in pursuit of some legends and some indie cats, and I know I personally would love to see this continue for a long time to provide ya’ll with some good info. peace and good music!

    5 Star series. Great stuff.

Darrell, it’s actually Plad… a form of fashion design lol

Sa’ll good though. JP, this was dope man, to a full extent. The fact that we have these in the vault, ready for anyone to watch whenever, I think that too is VERY important and clutch for whomever.

I love it. And not kissing ass here, but I think Illmind was the perfect prototype to get this ball rolling

Sean, I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said. John did a great job, and I think producers are hiding too much information nowadays, they ain’t sharing! Thanks for this interview though, we gain some knowledge and insight into what makes Illmind a great producer, instead of a good producer. He just drops gem after gem. I loved the series. I think you should try to get Marco Polo or DR Period next if you can’t get Premier, I would love to hear what they have to say.

Since it’s “Producer CEO” and not just “Ill Beats” I’d recommend Statik Selektah, for sure…that guy hustles like 10 ordinary men.
