I guess some people will never learn… smh. The Game responds to Jay’s recently freestyle at a show in France. With only a bunch of “f*ck Jay-Z”s and “old ass n****”s, sounds like Game is pretty much speachless. Come back when you got something interesting to same Jayceon. Until then… Jay-Z = GOAT. Don’t even bother…

OK, let’s get this straight…
The Game is one of the greatest scam in recent hiphop history… but somehow he’s a lucky mufucker who’s been served with some of the best production of 2000’s ! But when it comes to rap, lyrics, beside all of his name dropping “technique” the guy gots nothing ! absolutely nothing ! So game just shut up and get a career…
Come on ! jay ? he must be on some chronic !
Everyone on a major label with actual push to their projects has good production..so that argument goes out the window. His first 2 albums are dope. He did his thing lyrically on songs like “Dream” “Church For Thugs” “Compton” “Old English” “Couldn’t Get Far” the fella has a nice number of good songs….He’s barking up the wrong tree..the only rapper who could fuck with Jay in battle is Nas…basically he’s a dog barking at the moon right now
J4y iz g04t st4tuz. g4ym3 h4z n0 chance.
Y’all do realize he single-handedly took down one of hip-hops greatest empires at the time which was G-Unit… right? Jay-Z doesn’t battle rap, this is Game’s forte. If it comes down to it I think Hovito is going to get shot down. There’s no need to continue the discussion though, only time will tell. (I highly doubt it’s even going to get to that level though) I love how Jay says dude’s name in a line and Game is the bad guy. Game has been baiting Jigga and all of a sudden BP3 is in the making and Jigga wants to respond. I hope Game retires this dude… none of the “supposed” new leaks from BP3 have been great. (DOA, History, Brooklyn We Go Hard, Swagger Like Us, Jockin Jay-Z and I think that’s all of ‘em) He’s better off retiring with his lame discography before he has something else to ruin it.
Now your just sounding like a hater man lol What did Jay-z do to you personally? I’m not even going to comment on that first statement….
Game didn’t take down g-unit per se, g-unit crumbled just as all hip hop “empires” do. Jay not a battle rapper? Do your research man. Not even to talk of Jay way back before his debut, how about Takeover eh? Among one of the greates hip hop disses of all time. Heck even the title track to the blueprint 2 was no slouch. Tbh though Game would do well, he really doesnt have much ammo against Jay. Regardless, taking shots at legends is disrespectful business, what game is doing is worse than what budden said about mef.
The Game is a clown and I honestly don’t enjoy any of his albums. He’s a wack emcee plain & simple. And yes, I don’t like The Documentary either. I can’t stand that album anymore.
Game, you don’t want it with Hov, ask NaS, you don’t want it with Hov, NOOOOOO!!!! (even though NaS is better than Hov).
Look, Game is great lyrically and i love his music, but he don’t want it with Hov. Lyrically, Hov will destroy game. The freestyle game just did wasn’t that good and if that what he is going to use against Hov, ehhhh good luck.
The Game seems like quite the drama queen. And Matt…. Jay-Z says Game’s name in a line so The Game needs to respond with “Fuck Jay-Z”? What a fuckin baby! People were saying that Jay-Z is only in hip hop for the money, but look at this guy, he’s trying to make his career last by dissing as many people as he can. Kinda reminds me of Tha UFO…
Blah blah blah, don’t make random assumptions like I don’t know about Jay-Z. I’ve heard it all… I don’t care what anyone says “Takeover” sucks just like “Renegade”. Believe it or not, some people actually don’t like those songs. (the same way people don’t like songs on Illmatic or Paid In Full) Game would do well and I’m glad you admit that, I’m not completely counting Jay out but judging from his recent material I personally don’t believe he has the ability to beat Game in a battle of diss records. Jay said Game’s name out of the blue when he could’ve easily addressed the situation before… so who’s the one being disrespectful? Game is defending his case now. Why didn’t Jay respond when “My Bitch” dropped? Or any of the obvious subliminals? All of a sudden Jay says something and Game is the person who’s wrong? Makes no sense… What Joe Budden said WAS disrespectful, BUT it’s probably true. TODAY Joe would most likely rip Method Man a new one in my opinion. However, all the what if’s can be saved because that’s not going to happen.
That’s the way the Game is, if you say his name in a negative connotation you should expect him to say something. Do you think Jay-Z had no idea that saying his name would get some kind of response? Jay-Z is not stupid, he knew what he was doing. I love how Game is “mak(ing) his career” from dissing people. Game is a pretty well established artist by now, he doesn’t have to diss anybody. When the Documentary dropped, who was he beefing with? (If you are going to say Eazy E’s son then…)
Blueprint 2 > The Takeover in terms of credible attacks on style.
I understand the nexus of beef and promotion, but I really don’t know how this helps Game in the long run, regardless of who started it and regardless of who ends it. Given how busy Game’s been in trying to bait Hova, it’s kind of like what Nas said about 50 Cent back in 2006: it’s hard to respond to someone when you honestly have no idea what they want.
Joe Budden gutted Saigon. Go listen to Pain In His Life. An awesome diss track if I’ve ever heard one, and it could certainly challenge any of the Top Ten Disses from this site in terms of lyrical finesse and devastation. But nobody cares. Why? Because it’s Joe Budden, and dude disses everybody, and the manner in which he disses everybody pretty apparently suggests that all of his beefs are raw and senseless self-promotion. I can’t blame Game, I suppose. But considering that 50 Cent detonated his own “empire” by impersonating Joe Budden, I don’t see why The Game wouldn’t have learned from that lesson before having to live it himself.
NAS = GOAT
I said he’s trying to make his career last i never said that’s how he made his career. To be honest he doesn’t have very many good songs. And he’s getting worse. LAX was shitty, Doctor’s Advocate had about three tolerable tracks, and The Documentary was lucky to have a few tight beats. I’m not saying The Game’s an untalented dude, I just see him working harder to retaliate than to make good music. The guy’s head is in the clouds and hopefully he can learn to prioritize, then maybe we’ll hear something good come out of his mouth.
Rakim > Nas > a lot > Jay-Z
*ruffles feathers
Game doesnt have to beef with anyone? Damn near everyone in the industry needs to beef with someone to generate sales. Yeah Jay prolly did it purposefully, but was it so offensive that Game had to respond with a diss track? If anyone really respected someone the wouldnt be like fuck em. Despite all Budden said he made it clear he loved Mef as an artist. I didn’t say what Budden said wasn’t true but there is defo some shit you just dont say.
But thats the point “some” people dont like it, fair enough BUT you have to pay respect and homage. I’m no where near a huge lil wayne or 50 cent fan for example, HOWEVER, you gotta respect the stamp they’ve put on the game. But to say Takeover or Renegade such??? Fam, if they really did “suck” there would be somewhat of a unanimous feeling to this effect. You can say i “personally” dont like this or that but to say something sucks when it clearly doesnt is dumb. When people to this day quote lines from both the songs you mentioned all over the place “do you fools listen to music, or do you just skim through it”.
I also don’t know what Game was trying to accomplish by getting a bunch of white kids in Bordeaux, France to call Jay-Z an “old ass nigga.”
That’s your opinion. I’m a fan of his discography including all of his tapes. That’s why nobody will “win” this argument, you just basically admitted to not liking Game. Although I’m arguing for Game, believe it or not I am a fan of some of Jay-Z’s music. I just never have, and never will, understand how this guy is consistently getting into people’s “Top 5’s”, especially when more than half of his discography is at best average.
Side note: I’ve never really understood why so many people feel that Eminem bested Jigga on Renegade. They’re two guys with very different rhyme styles, Eminem’s having an immense shock value. His message was political, Jay’s message was social/personal. I think they made a great song together, period.
I agree, Jay-Z isn’t top 5 material. That’s my opinion, but I think he’s much better than the Game. What i see from The Game, is that he works so damn hard for attention. He’s been trying to get Jay-Z’s attention for a while now and I bet he’s really happy that he finally got it, that’s why he’s going all out like an idiot with this ridiculous freestyle. The Game is trying to start something and it’s probably gonna blow up in his face because he doesn’t have enough lyrical talent to win this one.
It’s all opinion
I thought this dude was retiring??……….
Nobody “needs” to beef to generate sells, it just helps. Who was Jada beefing with when he sold around 150k? (not sure exactly much) He had little airplay on MTV and I didn’t hear his single on the radio once. He grinded and got his internet game up. Joe Budden sold 30k albums when NOBODY knew his album was dropping. How? He hustled his ass off and promoted himself because Amalgam ain’t doing shit… Like I also said, Game definitely isn’t someone who is going to let you say his name and get away with it.
I agree with you and even Joe admitted he was wrong. Game is responding to Jay now so you can kill that “disrespectful” shit out…
Like I said before, there are people who don’t like certain “classic” songs. I personally know people who dislike songs like “One Time 4 Your Mind” or even “Respect” (BIG). I don’t discredit them because I know that they have hip-hop knowledge. Everyone has different tastes. IMO Takeover and Renegade SUCK. (besides Eminem’s 2nd verse) I’m not going to respect Jay-Z as a person because he sold out and openly admits to it, but I will respect him as a musician because he does have classic songs. (which a LOT of people get confused with classic records)
Lil Ish is right, if anyone says something worth responding I might reply later.
quit playing them childish games with grown men.I got a park bench you can put your home in.Matt just shut up.
At the end of the day both artist is getting paid from this so called “beef”
Jada was a different case, thats years of grinding to get into his position. Thats called a solid fanbase, Jada didnt really need a buzz to get that level of sales. But to go gold plus? Buzz is almost a must now, as is a killer single.
How is the disrespect thing out of the window if Game replied? If he was being respectful he’d keep quiet, since he through the first shots way back when, after the whole westside story biz.
It is opinion but to say Jay dont have classic albums is no different to saying Redman or Ice Cube dont. Regardless of if you like em Reasonable Doubt and The Blueprint are undoubtable classics. The Black album is borderline (though i prefer vol 1).
And who doesnt sell out? Those who “havent” either cant or are real real groups (very rare e.g. the roots and even they had birthday girl on their last album). Nas had oochie wally, even slaughterhouse just dropped “one”.
The moment you want someone else to hear your music, you become a sellout. Good music is good music
Let’s all now revel in the irony of this interview:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxQmw6YMbTI&feature=related
how wack are the the black eyed peas
charity needs some clarity… joe budden had some nice disses at saigon and is a more complex lyricists but saigon ripped him over the Wu beat…”what kinda grown man be saying unnhhhhh” lol
I agree with Matt, evreybody is way to quick to jump on ‘jay- z’s dick’. I have alot of respect for jay z as an artist, but his music? eh. I quite enjoy watching him get dissed.
Man, even DJ premier sold out working with Christina!!!
@ Wez
“I have alot of respect for jay z as an artist, but his music? eh.”
That makes no sense to me.
Wow….I’m really late. I’ll put my 2 Cent in.
Agree with MIDIMarc The Game has some hits (even though 50 says he wrote 4-6 on his first joint.). The Game has three solid albums…can’t front on that. However, Game has been getting at Jay since 2005. Check “Westside Story” and “The Documentary.” Even though he says in “The Documentary” he wasn’t going at Jay, but Ja Rule…right.
Up until this point Jay hasn’t said anything about The Game (except this freestyle/Dear Summer joint http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HW9gYVgBnls .
Charity I’m not sure why people say Em “killed Jay on his own shit” because “Renegade” was a Em and Royce song first. If you listen to the OG song Em has the same verses. The flow is a little slower (imo) on Jay’s joint, but basically the same to me. Its basically Jay jumping on someone’s else’s song.
Half of Jay’s discography is “at best average.” Not really understanding that. Jay has two certified classic albums: RD and BP. I personally think he has two classics, two 4.5 mic albums (Vol. 1 & BA). There are only a few discography’s that you can put up against Jay’s…Nas, KRS-One/BDP, Ghostface, Ice Cube early work, Redman, Scarface, LL Cool J, Common and probably few others. Only comparing him to solo artist and not groups. What these artist have in common is longevity and have had some bumps in the road along the way…but good music.
Personally, you don’t have to like Jay, but you have to respect the fact that he has stayed relevant for 15 plus years in this rap game. Gotta give it up to Nas to still have people talking about him in 2009 after coming out in the early 90’s.
Like I said in another post…Hip-Hop only champions the underdog. Once someone becomes “popular” or get a lot of love….its lets ish on them. I don’t get it…but oh well.
Music is so subjective…..it’s about personal taste.
I’m an admitted Jay/Nas stan….
But I do know….some people are made to be Superstars and some are made to be good players. Everybody can’t be Jordan….its ok to be John Starks or Gerald Wilkins….they had good careers.
Only the Hall of Famers make this list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_Finals_MVP
What I don’t understand is if you like an artist and dig the majority of the music they put out…why is it labeled “jumpin on their dick?”
Never understood/stand that. Somebody answer for me please.
OMG Matt. Us commenting on the same post without disagreeing? http://kevinnottingham.com/2009/02/26/joe-budden-padded-room/
Just having fun my man….nothing serious.
It gets a little tiresome and frankly, boring when cats resort to name dropping on every other song.
@ MIDIMARC : You know that if it wasn’t for DRE, Timbaland, Kanye and others, you won’t be listening to the dude ! Just hear him take a mic and perform an acapella, this shit don’t move me at all ! What i’m sayin’ is Game would never be able to drop a freestyle like jigga’s “my president is black”… I liked Game first album but that’s it….
Loss respect for game….. I was there…. and needless to say I left disappointed.
F*ck the beef bullshit. ThisMuFuka had a whole bunch of white people Sayin FuK that Nigga.
hmmmmmm. They were so excited.
:L
(ME VOMITTING)
I agree with Thomas completely. Even with legends, when you give them any appreciation is getting on their dick. People need to dead that whole dickrider hater thing, people are sounding as naive as Riley.
Jay hasn’t got significantly worse since he dropped in 1996. I didn’t grow up listening to hip hop during this period, it wasnt until 05/06 when i was 15 odd. I have no 90s bias and even furthermore im a brit to boot.
Imo if you call yourself a hip hop fan and cant even “understand” the hype behind a legend your at best a confused hip hop fan. If someone is dope the are dope end of. If someone like Pharoahe Monch who has had little commercial impact is a legend imo then how could Jay not be a legend?
Those producers you mentioned ROUH only produced for Jay after vol one. So thats after a classic and near classic….
Reasonable Doubt > Vol.1 > The Blueprint > The Black Album > Vol.2 > American Gangster > The Dynasty > Kingdom Come > Blueprint 2 > Vol.3
Those first four are easily classics.
i don’t even understand how this all got misconstrued as a diss. look at the format of the verse . . .
“I’m talking about life and all I hear is/Oh yeah he’s talking about cripe/I ain’t talking about profit, I’m talking about pain/Talking about the city, talking about shame/I ain’t talkin’ about gossip, I ain’t talkin’ ’bout Game/I ain’t talkin’ about Jimmy, I ain’t talkin’ about Dame/I’m talkin’ about real sh*t, this here is pain”
now, this was a freestyle. Jay-Z didn’t send the text of this verse to anybody, so that means that everyone else is suggesting that it’s Game with a capital G, and not “game.” does that make sense? he’s referring to “gossip” and “game.” people (like Game) are reacting to this like it’s some kind of subliminal diss and i doubt highly that it is. even if he is really referring to Game the rapper, he states that he’s “not talking” about him. so where is the diss, subliminal or otherwise? this is why i can’t ride for so many of these rappers: they get so hurt and upset at the sheer mention of their name, when in reality, no one is talking about or thinking about their washed-up ass. and for what reason would Jay even bring up Game out of the blue like that? that’s mindless. out of all people, he’s gonna try to go in on Game . . . yeah, ok. makes perfect sense. what is Jay-Z going to gain from challenging someone who is clearly not nearly on his level?
and to keep it 1000, if Game feels so strongly about his name in Jay’s mouth, why did he wait to get all the way to France to really speak on it? i’m saying, if you feel like that, why didn’t you step to his front porch with that? i feel like a lot of these rappers are just waiting for someone to call them out, whether it’s real or implied, just so they retain some degree of relevancy. they seem to get a boner from the attention. is this hip-hop or high school? for real. i’m so sick of these sensitive, diaper rash-ass emcees. at least let the beef (qualified and justified beef) ignite some type of creativity. no, instead we get a bunch of “F this, F that” and “old-ass . . .” instead of a real cohesive and thought-out response. hell, if i could be half as creative and consistent as Jay-Z has over his ENTIRE career, then i’ll gladly take being called “old.” “old” is not an insult when you’ve reached every possible career plateau you could ever imagine, and you STILL are on course to achieve more. who in the hell else in hip-hop is still at the top of their game at 39 (or however old he is)? all the “old” talk is nothing but jealousy and it needs to stop.
it seems like if some of these rappers put as much work into their albums and their careers as they do responding to all this foolishness, they’d be much more successful.
@ Victor
I was pointing out these producers saying they made the documentary a good album, not for jay. Jay is a beast no matter what producer is behinf the beat !
Game can eat a chronic d*ck
Jay-Z=GOAT????
Yes…Jay is the Michael Jordan of this rap ish!
This shit is not even worth commenting on.Let’s get back to talking about something that matters.
Mr. Street Team….you know how us Jay fans do….!
Yea,I know Mr. Campaign. I’m merely refering to the controversial part of it,that’a all
http://www.sohh.com/2009/07/slaughterhouse_talks_long.html
Everybody’s current favorite rapper respect’s S. Carter’s longevity in this game.
That EP is flames btw…even at 4 songs.
Well this just got a lot hotter.
http://www.zshare.net/download/625314404f3f8812/
This is what I’m talking about with Game. SMH.
@Thomas
I don’t know how to react to that track. The it’s good, and the quality is about what I’d have expected from Game. There’s just nothing particularly damning about the track. “You got cheese and I kill rats.” “T-Pain stays, old nigga goes.” It’s clever at times, but the shots all seem so arbitrary – especially by the end when he’s just ad libing sentences.
Jay certainly isn’t the lyricist that Nas might prove to be in this situation but he at least does his homework, and Takeover, Super Ugly and BP2 — whatever you think of their overall quality — were very focused diss tracks. I don’t know, I just think it would take some serious, uncharacteristic missteps of Jay to lose this one to Game.
Though I think Jay can still afford to give Game the Cam treatment for now. But who knows.
Jay won’t respond to this. Game got some shots in, but nothing Ether like…but Jay did respond to Jim Jones (for some unknown reason).
Like someone said on another blog…Game has been waiting for this since 2005. As long as good music comes out of it….I’m good.
Man, as much as I hate 50, I really wish he and Jay would both just go in on this cat once again and for all. Also, is 50 still beefing with Nas? Can we have a thread dedicated to mapping out who 50 has ever beefed with/is currently beefing with?
Problem, tho, is that Jay can’t necessarily afford just waiting to get Ether’d, you know? That’s not necessarily a great strategy if Game really is committed to firing until Jay fires back.
50 still mad at Nas that he was taken off of the Jennifer Lopez track way back and replaced by Nas.
50 has had problems with everyone (Lil Wayne, Jay, Kanye, Ja, Jadakiss, D-Block, Ross, Fat Joe, Bang Em Smurf, Game, Buck, Mase, etc)
If Game keeps dropping tracks like “I’m So Wavy” then Jay doesn’t have to say anything. The track wasn’t bad, but its not even the “Stillmatic freestyle.”
Plus, Game isn’t getting the attention he wants from this. All of the blogs that posted the song seems to be giving it negative remarks. +1 Hov
50 is as bipolar as Game is, really. I was listening to a Funk Flex interview where he was dissing Joe Budden for Method Man’s sake, and all I could think of was when 50 tried to shit on the Wu himself.
If I thought Game were shrewd or at least remotely rational, I’d expect he’d know when to give this up. But I really don’t think that’s the case. If were shrewd, I think he would have waited for Jay to drop one more shoe after mentioning him in that freestyle. As is, he just looks like a stan.
I wonder how Kanye will play in all of this.
Nahh Fif isnt bi polar, he beefed with the Wu to better his position in the rap game. The Game on the other hand just flips his morals every 5 mins. Hes a good rapper but when you see stuff like this you wonder when he’s gonna start dissing Cube and Dr Dre lol
But yeah defo not a good luck for him, smacks badly of attention seeking.
I know, my point was just that everything he could have said about Budden re: Method Man, he could have also said about himself when he was dissing Ghostface.
my first time seeing this.. hilarious
Sean Deez, you a old ass n****!!!!!!!
LMFAO!
