Before we get into this post, let me just add a disclaimer that this is NOT the official beat tape from our MJ Beat It Tribute Contest. Those entries are currently being reviewed for a beat tape to be released later this month. THIS beat tape, on the other hand, is one that was orchestrated by one of our resident producers, S.T.T.R.E.S.S. He got together with a handful of the other regular producers on the site (those who call themselves The Nottinghammers) and put together one hell of a tribute to the legendary Michael Jackson.
Here’s what S.T.T.R.E.S.S. has to say about the project:
Hello to the Nottingham Nation. I know there wasn’t a doubt in our minds that we had to put something together to pay tribute to the greatest entertainer to ever live. So as usual, the beat squad came together to do a tribute to MJ. I knew that everybody would be coming out with a tribute, in some form, but putting one out with the fam, was the touch that would separate this one from all the rest. The other thing that will make this tribute special, it’s more than just music, it’s a celebration of his achievements and body of work over the years. And it’s more than a beat tape, it is formatted more like a docudrama. This project was emotional and very close to our hearts. I would like to thank the Nottinghammmers again for contributing to this project and not taking it likely. Even to the ones that wanted to participate and couldn’t, thank you too. And thanks to Isbjerg for putting together this hot cover. Also, thanks to Kev for having this site up and allowing us to display our music. Most of all, our prayers go out to the whole Jackson family, he will be missed. Well, on with the show!!!

I wasn’t trying to kill ‘the self-esteem around here’ or make y’all seem weak but it was rather to share a link of another MJ Tribute out there with y’all… Fine, if you wanna entrap yourself in your fantasy that The Nottinghammers’ MJ Tribute, which is mad dope (C17 and S2, waddup), is the only tribute out there… FINE!
