Phew, that's it, glad there weren't more entries this week, even if I had to keep it short on most comments, I hope the warm feeling of being (fully) heard and noticed makes
a difference! The overall bar was slowly but steadily raised over the past weeks, which makes me look forward to the grand finale!

Now, since I went by Esbjergs example to comment on everyone, maybe you guys can sacrifice a little of your precious time and listen and comment on others (and me!) too!

Just one more thing: Anybody noticed the audible use of autotune on the acapella?
(e.g. 1st Verse : "...changed me, had me skipping school...") Gave me a goog laugh,
Death-Of-Autotune, baby!

Ya'll take care, it was a pleasure to listen to and comment on your work for the last 2.5 hours, I hope nobody feels offended by me! Hear ya'll next week!

Mellow Daze -	I like that you chose to use some of the musicality the original track offers, which was important for me and which -sadly- many people avoided, wheather on purpose or not.

Madscene & M.G. -	The way you chopped the strings reminded me of Biggie ("...You're nobody...til somebody...kills you...") This (string) arrangement also pointed out to me that very string-sample's use for another golden-era track which is of great nostalgic value for me personally, thank you for choppin' it this way :-D

Natown -	Started off nice, but you lost me when the drumrolls and hihats came in, way too hectic for this type of song!

Nittso -	Like those hat-sounds and the drum-rolls, I just can't hear another song using that 'really' vocal sample. You also sped up the instrumental a bit, works well here I think

Perfect P.IIItch	-	Like the double-hits of your claps/snares and you used those rising-strings (at the end of the loop) to glue the different parts/patterns together just like I did. Knowing why I chose to, makes me appreciate the fact you did it even more :-) .
I just generally think that too many vocal-samples take away from the track (though you didn't overdo it as much as others)

RazorSharpe -	"Where's your drums, buddy?!" I said to myself when I turned this on, but after (seemingly) half of the song, your much appreciated drums finally came in, better late than never. Personally I'd picked a differend Kick (with attack, no hi-cut) so it'd not interfer with the bassline that much. Did you narrow the stereo-spectrum? Overall nice track, I like

RodLoOs -	Right in the beginning, your sample and hihats are running out of sync, that's cool if you can cover it up, but in this case it was too obvious... I like the way you took this into a different direction than most, reminded me of busta's 'turn it up'
a bit. In the last third the vocals are running a little out of sync. Good overall mix

EDIT	*This is what I wrote before I realized I wasn't listening to you FINAL. You fixed most of it and the added instruments & fx are cool, too. Good job buddy*

RicH Lee -	I was surprised there weren't more versions pitching sample...panning the sanre to the left was not such a great idea, since the strings occupy this spectral spot, but the intention was to make room for the centered vox, right?

SCAM -	Good breaks and chops, you did some arranging there, like that

S.T.T.R.E.S.S. -	This track was too hectic for my ears, which partly resulted from the short chops and the hihats. A little more melody, and less chops would have touched me more, personally. I kinda like that '...time to slow it down...' pitch-down effekt

SEC -	Funny groove in this thing, but the vocals don't work on this , even though you did alotta editing and time-streching to fix the worst parts. At ~108 bpm you sure hold the title for the fastest remix this week (how could you put these reminiscent lyrics over a beat like that? :-) ). If I was partying right now, I'd sure get up and dance!
*Mastm!nd hands over the crazyness-trophy of the week to empty his hands, which
immediately start fumbling around searching for a drink within reach*

Tenth -	Nice drums, this golden-era-child is feelin' ya! Nice vinyl-stop end

That Swedish Guy	-	Too much chopping, but nice bassline, snare a lil soft

TicToc -	Too many vocal-cuts, combined with the hats it's too hectic for me. Sadly the vocals are off too...

Tony Blitz -	A little neptune-esque drum-approach ('hectic' kick, and different claps, bla) cowbell/ride could have popped up earlier not just at the end, along with a little variety in the arrangment. The vocals seem off a bit...

Tokyo Cigar -	I liked the musicality of this, which was kinda rare, in a week with more passionate choppers than at a Harley-meeting ^^ and flooded with (partly annoying) vocal-samples! Good job!

Vol -	Good fx, rimshot on each count is too much for me on this, but the groove is nice! One of the better ones when it comes to mixing and arranging

Doente -	Like some of the submissions this track gets annoying after listening for a while due to the constant repetition of the sample (yes i know, you added something every 4 bars or something)

EkZakt - Your organ chops sound vocoded, interesting! We both used delay for the outro, feeling that!

GC -	Nice mix, good variety of samples, drumrolls work in this case! Like this one. Also one of the few who actually arranged the song according to the vocal (drum-pauses, instruments taken away, bla)

Getnyce -	The vocals are a 1/4 bar ahead of the beat, and the end came kinda surprising

Isbjerg -	Like the rhythm of your drums, the piano roll is interesting, not exactly what I'd chosen, but hey, like (almost) every addition of other instruments it adds spice! The trumpet is like me back in school - layed back and very late :-) why not bring it in earlier?

Icemanbeatz - Heh you like using reverse crashes/cymbals, I'm feeling that, I like that you added a bassline, but for this song it feels a little strong. Maybe up the vocal-level a bit! What i gotta point out, is that you were the only one so far using 16th-note-hats in a non-destructive way flavourwise, good choice to run 'em at low levels, maybe up them just a tiny bit and see what happens!

Jazzmarc -	Like the organ-flavour you added, and your addition of small FX that underline what Jigga's saying, did that too

L.M.N.2. -	Like the sound of your mix in terms of tonal balance, good levels and use of dynamics, one of the few here to meet high standards in mixing when it comes to things like panorama (I noticed that stereo-expander ;-) )

LP Trax -	Like the intention to approach it low, many folks made good instrumentals, but sadly some of them don't support the vocals and the feel of the track. Especially low tracks love to be arranged a little...The chopper inserted on the strings got on my nerves though, matter of personal taste I guess...

Mastam!nd - First thing I really love about this is that.....wait, it's mine, damn, no comment :-) So if you feel like givin' it all back to me, tear this apart in your comments!

Okay, since my long post is not working, I see myself forced to spam this place with multiple-posts....This is what i wrote:

Okay folks,

since Esbjerg is not commenting on EVERYONE this week (at least so far) I'll share my feelings or what I felt stood out in either a good or bad way about each track.
I respect the differences in personal taste and feel what's right for a track, I can just try to give an honest feedback, what I feel about them, nothing more and nothing less than my personal opinion, so don't let me discourage anyone in here, since I know we all put a lotta love in, otherwise there wouldn't be so many folks participating every week, right?!
Long talk, short genital, so let's get down to business:

44th Parallel - Too much attack on the kick, clap a little in the back (personally prefer them more in the foreground). When it comes to the arrangement, you could've done a lil more there, just looped the cutoff part..

44th Production -	This joint did not load for some reason...

Beat Matixx - Kinda liked the vox-adds, but too many 'ya's are annoying after a while. The phone-fx during the 'kitchentable' break is a nice way to have the instrumental goin' but still turning it down

Bezuoro - Like the fact you were one of the few doing any (noticeable) vocal-processing, but you ended up with too much chorus on the voice, strings-sample is dropped too randomly, off beat

Bidimridim - Nice chopped bassline, like that vibraphone-typa sound you used!
 Only thing I don't like is the high-pitched vocal-chops
 Like the mix

BigFunky - Liked that u sped up the sample like me, but I just went to 85 bpm, you went all the way up to 98 bpm, which kinda takes away from the feel of the track, it looses some emotion, which your fonkay beat only partly compensates for. Makes your mix stand out though, especially when listening to them all in a row.

Blue -	I personally dislike the southy 16th-note 808 hihats and drumrolls (though this is not generally a problem for me, just not on this soulful track please!)

CJ Fresh -	Like the chopper-parts, but like I said earlier, I strongly dislike 16th hats on emotional tracks like this, one of the more electronic-sounding versions, which is not bad at all!

Clear Blue - Nice mrs.Carter intro, vox run a lil late plus a little diversity in the arrangement would further improve it, drums have too much room (sounds like rock)

Confidential -	Like the delay on the sample-hits and your drums buddy!Your drums do a good job covering up the ones in the samples

DJ Tommy II Gunz	- I just don't think 16th-note-hats work on this track, sounds too hectic for my ears

Peace fam. Here we go....the last joint. This ish has been a lot of fun. I'm proud to see all of us step the beat game up. This week the comp is ridiculous. A lot of dudes brought some serious heat. I got a chance to check out a few of them. Of the ones I heard, these stood out to me:
Beat Matixx
Bidiridim-real different
GC
Isbjerg
Perfect PIIITCH
Vol-real different

I know I missed plenty of them though. But just about everyone did nice work

Isbjerg: I had to address you specifically because you always spend the most time trying to help others with your commentary. Greatly appreciated bro. Thanks for the compliments from before too. As for your beat, the sonics( ill mix) were excellent and like the trip-hop while maintaining that gutter feel. The horns at the end were dope, however, I would have introduced them earlier. The song lacked a bit of variation. Add that and a few elements of change earlier and it's a ill remix.

Congrats Tokyo and GC! That cave kings ish was dope. The rhyme style is crazy and ofcourse GC laced the beats. Much props.

ONE

Doing some tweaking before I put up my final mix.

I don't want to enter this contest. The bar is too high. lol
I've just downloaded the original sample in order to appreciate your remixes.
So, for now this what I got to say :
GC : Wow !! I like the way you did it man. And it sounds clean. Great work !
RodLoOs : You're A F*$*ing Genius, man. It sounds different but it's vibrating. You have a gfit. I guess It's not your final one so I'm sure you're improving your remix right now. You Crazy Maestro lol R.E.S.P.E.C.T.
