You know we love to represent that real hip hop here and this cut is no exception. Allow me to introduce UK emcee Mad Flow. Before you grab the track, check his beatboxing skills in the video above… unreal! Production comes courtesy of S.2, who some of you may know from our remix contest. Chris Read laid done the cuts. Don’t sleep on this track!

    Just chanced on this and caught me slightly by surpirse… I’d heard the track but didn’t know it was out and about. It’s all good though – happy it’s getting some play.

    I should add that Flow and I recorded this track about 10 years ago! The original version was on an album I released back in 2000. My original sounds pretty dated to me now but I like how it’s been flipped on this. Nice work.

    After reading this, I went and got together a little more info in case anybody should be interested;

    Flow tells me that S2′s remix is one of a handful that he’s been sent recently that he’s planning to put out as a little package online some time soon.

    The original version of this track (the production on which I’m not especially proud of if I’m being honest) was recorded around 1999 / 2000. It appeared on an LP that I compiled called ‘Lyric Superbrand’ (released 2001) (#DIFLP18 if anybody cares to look it up on discogs) as well as an official mixtape release from former DMC World Team Champ Mr Thing for ‘Breaking Point’ (also released 2001).

    Memories, memories…

    Yo, thanks for the info Chris. I was unaware that this track was that old or that this was actually a remix.

    What’s up Chris, props on those sick cuts.
    I just want to clarify a misunderstanding. I knew there was an original version but I never knew it was released. So as such I wasn’t thinking of this as a remix when I sent it to Kev.

    I now realize it really is a remix, if the original was actually already released (and 10 years ago at that!)

    No – of course we’re all cool. I like it and if folks enjoy hearing it again then that’s the only important thing as far as I’m concerned. Just wanted to put it in context you know. Peace one and all!
