Nobody Famous vs. Has-Lo

Nobody Famous - Has-Lo

What’s a little competition between label mates? Turns out the track that we leaked earlier this week from Nobody Famous sampled the same Donny Hathaway joint that fellow HiPNOTT artist Has-Lo flipped on a previous track that he did. Both producers did the damn thing with this sample, but let’s see what you all think. Who flipped it better?

“I Love You More Than You’ll Ever Know” by Donny Hathaway

Ya’ll are trying to compare apples to oranges…

Listen to the words, and hear the message.

Some cats don’t care about the message…

Nobody Famous…way to appeal to the masses, that will sell records along with your soul

Has-Lo…way appeal to the heart, stay true to yourself, your day will come and you will shine like the sun.

Not feelin’ either to be fair…

‘It’s a catch 22, either you lose or you lose’

Not hating, by the way.

Famous did an actual “flip”. What Has did was more of a poem or rendition with the original song as a background. I enjoyed both songs but there was only one real flip between these 2. I could see myself listening to Has just for a chill out mode, and Famous as a head bopper.

HANDS DOWN, HAS DID HIS THING! KINDA REMINDS ME OF A RZA BEAT!

I didn’t vote, cuz I dig both. Besides, that’d be like a father picking a favorite child! lol

Props to both Fam and Has! We gonna work on a collabo for sure.

12 Has-Lo July 15, 2009 at 11:13 pm

@Eddie Knucks

actually it IS a flip. all the pieces i chopped together for the section i rhyme on are in the intro to the song. u just have to listen closely. i used source song as a way to smoothly tie the verses together. well…that and the og song is fresh. just something different-

check it out for yourself:
